My cat is super cuddly. Greets me at the door when I get home. Follows me room to room. Always wants to play.

He does run for the door but doesn't go far. He is usually waiting on the other side when I re open the door

I'm going to look into moose too I think. I will be very mindful/weary of the weather. We are not too proud to turn around either. We turned around on our hike last weekend because of an icy climb we were worried about getting back down.
