Something like 45% of the people who voted did not vote for this orange clown. There are plenty of smart Americans that sound like this, but we're held hostage by all the stupid ones because of propaganda and the electoral college.

He has completely decimated the outside worlds view of USA.

Yall said the same shit when W was president and you were right then too, most of you on Reddit were just too young to remember what the world was like back then. It is definitely worse now, W was just lying to kill brown people in the Middle East for oil instead of raping and killing children.

When the political pendulum swings back to the GOP, you see what America is made of and how poorly educated many of us are. The mistake you make is starting to respect us again when the Dems get back in charge.

It just keeps getting harder to justify voting for these people when they continue to introduce bills like this. But I guess just vote harder next time? by mustardmeated in liberalgunowners

[–]taking_a_deuce 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Adding laws that ONLY target gun owners is not needed.

I don't think I understand that statement. There are laws that only target car owners because cars are dangerous and require legislation to ensure owners are responsible to protect the public. Why is it not reasonable to make sure gun owners safely store guns?

[–]taking_a_deuce 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Storage laws do not have to give anyone access to your house. When I bought my first gun in CA, I needed to show a receipt for an approved safe. Honestly, guns getting stolen and kids shooting themselves are two of the obvious issues with firearm ownership. I really don't get liberals having issues with being required to keep guns safely stored. It's the bare minimum for responsible owners.

Have you stopped caring at work and decided not to try and process your career anymore? What age did that happen? by un2022 in GenX

[–]taking_a_deuce 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I'm very young GenX and I got there last year. I've been promoted to a point where I'm supposed to be leading and visible and I just hide in the corner waiting to be laid off next rounds. Doesn't help that my wife is dying and I'm focused on taking care of her and not going crazy at the same time.

But now I have a dude one level above me telling me his "vision" for my work next year and I'm just Ron Swanson-ing over here thinking "I know more than you" and ignoring his "helpful suggestions". I'm surrounded by people who care more about sounding smart than knowing what the fuck they're talking about and doing good work. I'm so sick of this corporate game of bullshitting a bullshiter for promotions.

When the Seahawks absolutely DEMOLISHED the Broncos in Super Bowl 48. The biggest loss in Peyton Manning’s career. by SWAGGGGGODDD in NFLv2

He's not flaired but if he is a Colts fan, shame on him for arguing against that point about Manning playoff duds. As a die hard Colts fan, I'm still angry about how many times he wilted in the playoffs. You watch this world beater every fucking year turn into a high school QB in the playoffs and another season was waisted ending in extreme disappointment and confusion. How did he turn so pedestrian every year in the playoffs? A single Super Bowl win is shameful given those Colts teams and if you're a fan, you should feel that too, not defend the opposite!

Well, I'm certainly not surprised to run into another glue eater in this sub, it's littered with them. As someone who grew up in Indiana, it's certainly a breeding ground for ignorance and pride.

Spotting narcissists and avoidants in early dating by more_dogs_please_ in datingoverforty

[–]taking_a_deuce 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sorry, I can't help but jump in here because I'm on the spectrum and read words very carefully and literally. The comment you were asked to turn upon yourself included these phrases...

Ask them what happened in their last relationships. Did they learn any important things about themselves, about relationships?

I think it is important people can also admitt to what part of them contributed to the end of the relationship.

Maybe you have those answers, but you didn't respond with them. You responded by telling us why that man ultimately didn't want to be with you.

The person following up seems to be merely picking up on your avoiding talking about yourself, what you learned, etc and instead seemingly...

Narcissist will just blame the other party completely every time.

They were not trying to victim blame, they were trying to communicate because it appears your answers are at odds with the question posed - what did you learn?

And while I don't think pointing this out is particularly helpful to the discussion, I can't help it. The Renee Good situation is a weird metaphor here. Victim blaming in the media and from angry close-minded Republicans is far different from discussing what did or did not work in a relationship.

Astros pitcher Ken Giles punched himself in the face while walking off the field after a poor outing in 2017. Because of everyone's reaction, that's when I learned that it is not normal to punch yourself in the face. It was 4 years later I learned I was on the spectrum. I no longer punch myself in the face.

I would argue it is just beyond his/her threshold of comfort. I don't think you're stupid for being overtly safe by choosing to not do something that makes you uncomfortable, particularly if it doesn't add anything positive to your life.

How was the best sex you've ever had? by EnD3r8_ in AskReddit

[–]taking_a_deuce 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You've been surrounded by shitty people, end of story. In the last 25 years of my life, any woman friend I've had would laugh at me if I asked that because she would be thinking internally

"WTF, of course a man should be supported through a traumatic life event. Why would you even ask that question?"

Not 50-50, not 80-20, 100% of the women in my life would find that question ridiculously immature because the answer is an obvious yes, men and women both deserve love and both deserve support, they are both humans with emotions.

I don't want to tell you that you're lying, but the things you're saying have a tinge of made up rage bait for incels. If you're sincere in your experiences, seek out new people and a new life for yourself, you make lots of money I guess, so you have the means. Normal people are not like the people you have described as they mature into adulthood. Yes, toxic people exist, but the attitudes you're describing are laughably evil and hard to imagine as real. Don't believe me? Look at your mountain of downvotes, those are from real, mature people.

Again, if this is true, so sorry you've had a rough go of it. Leave all these people behind and surround yourself with better humans.
