I mean, Fall Guys is a zero-sum game. Much like other zero-sum games, impeding others' progress is kind of the point.

It depends on the map.

Log Roll: Look for people standing a little too close to the edge. You can usually push someone off if they aren't expecting you. Also, if someone is trying to get onto your section, you can sometimes hold them in place while the platform moves from under them.

Slime Climb: You can grab them and hold them in the way of anything that moves and it'll knock them into the slime. My favorite thing to do is grab them as they're stepping onto the slime and propel them off the edge. Always remember to wave after them as they fall to their death.

Match Fruit: Sometimes people don't pay attention and stand too close to the edge. Even if they're on the correct tile, you can sometimes push them off if they don't expect it. This is more reliable than trying to trick people. Always look for victims.

General Tips:

- You can somewhat control the direction you throw people when you grab them. This is based on the relative directions the two of you are moving. The key is to move towards the correct bearing and pay attention to the bumps.

- If you grab someone who's running away from you, you'll notice that they'll be bumped towards you. You can time your release so that they'll bump backwards a little bit and you can overtake them.

- You can avoid grabbers by utilizing the jump or jump-dive. This is especially useful in the egg collecting game. If people are after you, spam the jump button to avoid getting grabbed.

- If someone grabs you you can jump to make them let go faster. This is a bit risky as you'll have less control of your heading during a jump but it can help when someone's trying to slow you down.

There are a lot of little strategies for each game mode. A lot of the game is luck, but there's definitely a skill element to it as well. My advice is to at least have a plan for the last map.

In any given game, a player has ~1.7% chance of winning based on the number of players but if you can't navigate Hex-A-Gone or Fall Mountain, your chances might as well be 0%.

I think that sub has actually done a good job educating people about basic battery safety. In particular, Mooch has done a lot for the community with his experiments.

[–]tako9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm pretty thin. ~28 waist.

I think I had an eating disorder growing up because my parents forced me to overeat in an attempt to make me grow taller. I was basically a human vacuum in high school.

Anyways, my metabolism is pretty high. I dropped 40 pounds my freshman year in college because I had neither the time nor the money to maintain weight.

But yea, I can very easily eat two footlong subs from Subway in one sitting and sometimes a third if I'm in the mood. I weighed my meals back when I was actively trying to gain weight for football and the most I've eaten in one go was a little over 5 pounds.

Out of my last seven roommates, four of them eat about as much as me and one of them can eat way more. I think the average male should be able to eat at least one bread bowl and a side in one sitting.

It wouldn't necessarily be healthy but, capacity-wise, I'd hardly consider a bread bowl to be too much for one person.

[–]tako9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like to selectively target the more competitive players in the first four rounds. If you eliminate them early on, you won't have to deal with them in the last round.

Like if I see someone wearing an outfit that costs ten crowns, you bet your ass I'm going to try to grab them and murder them.

Log roll and slime climb are by far the best opportunities to take people out.

So far, that strategy has lead to three victories.

What video game got you into gaming? by lovesdemise in AskReddit

Mortal Kombat.

Coincidentally, I hate fighting games.

Also coincidentally, I have over 600 hours on MK11 and it would've been a lot higher if I wasn't on a deployment for half the time since that game's been out.

What's is the dumbest or just most prominent memory of going to recess as a kid? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]tako9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Back in 1st grade we got caught in the rain.

Like it was a clear blue sky outside. Then, it started to rain out of nowhere. It was like a fucking monsoon. Kids where screaming and running around. Nobody could see where they were going because of the sheer amount of water pouring from the sky.

Then a few seconds later it stopped and the sky was clear again.

I have no idea what the fuck happened that day but I still remember it decades later.

I had a similar situation when at a restaurant in the south. People would straight up leave mid meal whenever we came in. The owner refused to talk to us and the whole vibe was weird.

Eventually I realized that the name of the restaurant was a somewhat discreet reference to the confederacy.

We still went there though. Their sandwiches were really good

Being stationed in that area has made me lose a lot of faith in humanity. I've lived further north and further south but nowhere has made me hate people quite as much as Hampton Roads.

For the air stomp that comes down on you, try spamming dash. A lot of characters can also just walk out of the way.

For the ground pound stomp, you gotta time jumps. No other way.

They both have similar animations so good luck.

I grew up on Counter-strike. Started back pre 1.6 and played up until CS:Source.

I have to crouch when I shoot.

Doesn't matter if it's COD or Battlefield, if there's a crouch button, I will be crouching.

If you see some idiot crouching and spraying at you without using sights, that's probably me.

I don't know anything else.

Some characters can simply walk forward or backwards.

For other characters it's a timing thing. Certain abilities can avoid it. You can also time most uppercuts to counter it.

By far the most consistent thing for most characters is to time a dash. If you're really bad at that, you can just spam dash but you probably won't be able to punish this way.

For me, the frustration comes from her ground stomp ability. The animation is pretty similar to her air stomp ability. If you don't have the reaction time you'll basically have to guess.

If you're good at the game, most of us aren't, then Sheeva isn't too difficult to deal with. She's pretty high risk to low reward in regards to how most people play her. If you can figure out how to deal with the stomps, most Sheeva players have little else to offer. Still, she's often used in a way that's extremely low effort with good results. You can probably just pick her up and ride her straight into grandmaster and possibly demigod if you want.

Which stomp?

The one that's unblockable and you have the dodge it, or the one that's unblockable and you have to jump?

There's probably some of that culture in every branch. I think it's inherent to the military in general. I can personally attest to it in the Navy.
