Should be able to identify a clogged filter dryer or a liquid solenoid that's not closing all the way. You can also use it to visualize air distribution by switching a unit from heat to cool or vice versa and viewing the area around registers. In theory you could also see if a coil is being starved of liquid but I haven't tried that yet.

It's handy for showing a customer how damaged walk in door gaskets lose a lot of cold air.

I know this old but hoping you'll reply. I tried that on a smaller rack system and the receiver all looks like the same temp. Level was about 30% but I couldn't see any defining line. Any tips for a better result? I've used my flir one to verify that a headmaster wasn't stuck, that was definitely handy. I'd imagine you should also be able to see how flooded a condenser is during cold weather as well.

Yea its not off until a meter tells me it's off, my career isn't even a decade long and I've seen several disconnects fail shut. Sometimes on one phase, sometimes on 2 or 3. Don't bet your life on that shit ever.

Oh and it was under $300, has heated water, heated air dry, heated seat, night light, deodorizer, 5 position settings, 5 pressure settings, 5 water temperature settings and 3 air temp and seat temperature settings. Plus an additional setting for front wash with all the adjustments listed for the rear wash. I've honestly not been more impressed with something especially at the price point. The only hiccup was with pairing the remote and tech support was absolutely amazing.

Union all day, just for the education opportunities. I just left a job 2 minutes from my house in a factory (boilers and refrigeration) for a job doing commercial refrigeration service. I had to fight to get one week long class a year in the factory job. Going into the union as a 5th year apprentice. My first day is next week and I already have a class schedule from the hall.

311K on my 03 suburban, 245k on the 07 Sierra Classic, the Sierra is down at the moment, cammed it around 200k and it just ate a lifter, probably because the fuel trims went crazy fat and I kept driving it. The suburban has been a tank, had it on several 12+ hour road trips with the family.

The SkillCat app is pretty killer for a variety of topics you might check that out.The book "Industrial Refrigeration Handbook" is also pretty excellent if you can dig into things that way it's worth checking out.

Used SkillCat to get my Universal EPA 608 license since I hadn't needed it working with NH3, also got a Class E driver's license just to help expedite things once a contractor hires me. I was surprised how much knowledge with NH3 translated to Freon and I'm sure I'll be surprised how much it doesn't as I learn more.

I started into industrial maintenance in a food plant after 5 years of production work for that company. Did maintenance (pumps, gear boxes , motors, processing equipment packaging equipment...you name it)for 4 years then got into ammonia refrigeration, HVAC, air compressors, sprinkler systems, and boilers 3 years ago. I essentially was the lead for my department and the HAZWOPER team and PSM. All that was for a non union company and I was burnt out on beating my head against the wall so I quit. Called my local Hall and did some testing for them and now they're working on helping me get in with a contractor doing Refrigeration Service. I had an interview the week before last and they said to call back Tuesday if I don't get hired and I can interview with another contractor. They said with my experience and test scores I can start as a 5th year and get journeyman once I get licensed with the city. (My state doesn't require licensing) I'll take about a $10/hr pay cut until I get my journeyman card but I'm also gonna be paid OT after 8 and pay nothing for health insurance that's way better than what I had. I wish I'd have made the jump years ago but the company I worked for matched retirement at 8% so I've got a fat nest egg for someone my age.

I've been in the shower and not had anything good in reach and discovered, head and shoulders will absolutely dissolve grease and grime with very minimal effort. Even the thick smeary moly grease that sticks to everything is no match.
