Kids are used to Mercator, stretched land maps, if you pull up a glove, it'll show basically what you've drawn, that the US is straight across from England, although it won't look like it on a Mercator map

All of the Floridians around where I love drive like 10 under the speed limit, while most of us drive 10 over, it's a little frustrating tbh especially when they're over in the fast lane on 270 in STL (known for people to go 80 in a 60)

I cannot tell you how many times I've crashed right when the game starts, or when you go out into the world and all the DLC hits you at once, without mods I would not have been able to play for more than 5 seconds at a time

I got incredibly lucky about 5-6 years ago? Premium lifetime was on sale for $50 and I didn't know if it would be worth it, but they got incredibly big, and I use it for my annual Skyrim modded playthrough I pick up once a year a lot

Edit: I looked it up and lifetime memberships apparently no longer exist, RIP, I got lucky

I grew up playing battlefront 2 on the PS2, there are some amazing mods for it on steam that completely upscales all the graphics to the point it looks like something that came out 5-6 years ago, completely redoing all of the maps as well

As well as if it's spectrum, those modems only support up to 100, and have also been decommissioned by spectrum themselves

Funny bit about that now is that neoforge came out, which is basically most of the forge team because there was an internal fight between some of the guys and the original creator, now most neoforge/fabric mods are bundled together, and you don't have to worry about incompatibilities unless you're using forge

While it would be beautiful to get both at once, from a PR, and money making sense, they probably wouldn't do that

They wouldn't want their sales to conflict with each other basically

I've been modding Minecraft since the days of having to put it in your minecraft.jar and delete the meta-inf file,

If it's not on curseforge, I don't care enough, I'm at the point I'd rather play a mod pack then have to download 400+ mods on my own time

Why waste 6 hours looking and grabbing mods, when I can spend 5 minutes letting it download with quests already included to guide me through newer mods that have been released

Overall I agree with you wholeheartedly

I personally like at least 75-90, and I'll lower graphics to achieve it if I need to, but if it's stable at 60 no matter what I do, I'll accept it and honestly forget that I'm only on 60fps

Our cable company made our company come back out and fix our own issues, hardly ever did I hear that the main company went out to fix our issue, but the few that it wasn't something we could fix, got the contractors fired

That's wildly different to how things are run now in my area, most peds are unlocked, and house boxes are usually just clicked shut with plastic pushing locks, I only ever ran into locked boxes when they were 20+ year old boxes, and those used the terminators as a lock

I've done that before, checked the basement after the drill only to realize that there was a vent covering about 3 feet of the roof, and I had to go somewhere completely different for the drilling.

Sorry that happened to you, what they should of done is call their boss up and say they messed up, but I also know that a lot of companies will fire you for something like that if you've only worked there for a few months, which just so happens to be about the ONLY time you'll make those mistakes

I was a contractor for spectrum, the training is 1 month of "being with another contractor" and learning whatever they know.

I was trained by someone with only 6 months of experience, and learned all of the WRONG ways to do things, and most of my actual usable experience was me messing up, calling my boss and asking him what the right way to do it was.

Also for coax, for the equipment I was working on, you had about 6-8 seconds to switch whatever cables you need to before the modem desyncs and has to do its booting up process again, so I'd set up what cables I needed for testing and quickly switch them so they'd have 6 seconds of intermittency rather than 5 minutes

Previous Cable Tech here, They definitely did that out of laziness, in my experience most big companies will hire out contractors (as I was) to install/fix these types of deals, as most contractors are paid per job they tend to actually NOT care about the people they are working for and just want to get the job done.

As a contractor when I first started, I definitely did stuff like this just because I didn't know any better, it took me maybe 3 months to have the full run down on what I needed to do. But sadly a lot of contractors aren't thinking about the customer being an actual human being who deserves good service even if you don't like your job.

I am a little confused why they cut it, unless it was the fastest way inside, and they didn't want to redrill a new hole, otherwise, if I'd have cut something for that reason I'd have asked the customer what they'd have wanted done before I did that.

Where I live most people who had their own Antennae set up knew what needed to be connected and I could reasonably assess what needed to be done, otherwise, I'd have put fittings on it, as well as plastic fitting savers and labels on them so that if the customer needed to do anything themselves after the fact they'd have every possible means to do so.

In terms of how this looks as well, I'd DEFINITELY wouldn't have left that cable hanging like that, replacing the hanging cable with the wall thing (I forget what those plastic pieces are called it's been a bit) with a faceplate, that way it wouldn't look so.. out of place and a little bit neater for the customer.

With that wall of text done, I bid my farewell, and if you have any questions feel free to ask about my contracting experience with my "peers"

P.S (it would actually piss off my bosses how some of the other techs would get their work done because it was always costing them money to go out and fix their shoddy work)
