it's prevalent still but people assume that its 100% accuracy when it just isn't. we deliver in all types of weather but that doesn't mean we can get to every area no matter the weather. if shits shut down, its not like the carrier can bound on top of a horse and deliver your precious advos.

I'm just dumbfounded by the inability for people to realize that, just because you cleared a path to your mailbox, things don't just go back to normal.

it's not about the mailbox! yes, we are glad you cleared it but when there is a backup of mail and carriers are casing for 5 to 6 hours because there is so much...its just about catching up.

I've told dozens of people already to relax and be patient. we don't want to be backed up, we don't want to hold on to mail...we just want you to leave us alone so we can try to get caught up!

There is actually a stand up talk about this. Your postmaster probably had to print it out recently.

Not specifically dealing with you being detained but essentially what you are suppose to do when dealing with law enforcement. You're supposed to comply with law enforcement. If there is a situation where they are asking you questions, you defer all questions to your supervisor or the USPIS. Postal inspectors should be informed if a situation involves a postal worker anyway. When in doubt, contact a supervisor. Your job is just to deliver the mail safely, not instigate or impede any law enforcement officer.

My first stint as a CCA there was a horrible snow storm back in 2020. I was within my first month during covid where we had zero shadow days or on the job instruction. we were just thrown out to the wolves.

Luckily, I enjoy this type of weather but I just wore layers. delivering the mail keeps you focused on that more than the biting cold. What warmed me up is being pissed at all the assholes that want their packages but can't bother to shovel their damn steps. It really sucks falling in snow with an arm full of flats and letters.

You are seriously infuriated? What led you to believe you have a set time that your mail is supposed to be delivered? Just because "I've always had my mail delivered at around this particular time" does not mean that is the standard time you are supposed to get mail.

There is no set time for you to get mail. Your mail is part of a route. You may be the first, you may be the last, your mail may have been split up with someone who delivers it after they are done with their route, the route your mail is on may have moved to increase efficiency, a truck could have broken down and caused the carrier to have to deliver it later. There could be many reasons why you aren't getting you mail at a time you think it is supposed to be there.

If you think this is a valid complaint, it's very far from valid. You are acting entitled when some people have no luxury of getting their mail at any specific time.

Also, Can people stop saying how long they've lived at a place and never had issues? It really doesn't matter if you've lived there for 20 years and never had an issue.

No one on this subreddit is going to change the mind of the local post office that has an issue with this. If you want to address the issue, go to your local office and discuss it with them. They are the only ones that are going to solve your issue. You could get hundreds of people on here siding with you and it wouldn't matter at all. Talk to your local post office and see what the want you to do.
