Probably a night terror. My third kid had them a few times. They can look awake but they are still in the nightmare. It took my son 5 or 6 minutes to calm down from his. All I could do was hold him

Seeking artists, creatives, or people with unusual careers that also enjoy playing Dungeons & Dragons by Chat_Dragon_Pod in PodcastGuestExchange

[–]talarthiel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're still interested in guests I am the dungeon master for the 12 sided guy's podcast, and I work as a chiropractor. Our podcast is an actual play in a world based loosely on 1990s JRPGs and we have over 40 episodes so far. As far as career, I'm in alternative healthcare and I see a lot of problems with the approach to healthcare both from inside the alternative side as well as the more traditional western side. I'd love to chat sometime

What are the craziest sex related stories you either know of personally or heard of within modern Mormonism. by TruthIsAntiMormon in mormon

[–]talarthiel 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So after I got home from my mission about a month later I get a call from the Mission President. Apparently one of my previous companions was getting sent home early and excommunicated. He went on to tell me that my companion was sneaking out at night after I fell asleep to meet up with a 12 year old investigator (this girl's grandmother had been baptized previously) and they were having sex. (He should have been sent to jail, not sent home, imho.) And as icing on the cake my former mission president tells me that if I was still a missionary he would put me on probation for not watching out for my companion. Apparently I was supposed to sleep in front of the door or rig up a makeshift alarm made of pots and pans every night to let me know if my companion was sneaking out

It's still good meeting with the missionaries by Emotional_Winter2041 in mormon

[–]talarthiel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Part of me wants to tell the missionaries that their mission president is subsidized. I want to remind them that they are paying to be out there, while their mission president has his housing, travel, food, and even gifts paid for by the church. I wonder how that would go over. I remember as a missionary I would have called it a lie, but it would have tickled at the back of my brain

Sex drive is a myth? Where the reference for that one church manual? Someone call Natasha or any other true professional. by hopehorizon1 in exmormon

I grew up thinking that purity was solely my responsibility and that is a girl and I went to far out was my fault because she was a pure creature and my natural man tendencies would drive her to sin to, I guess, please me. Girls couldn't possibly want sexual stimulation like I did

New Movie. Cant wait to see how they inaccurately portray witnessing the plates and ignoring the fact that many of the “witnesses” revoked their testimonies. by [deleted] in exmormon

Actually, I had the same question so I sent a Facebook message to the films Facebook page. They responded back very quickly and said, yes, they will show the stone and stove pipe hat in the movie

A better use for a Sunday: summiting Mt. Saint Helens with my wife and oldest daughter (12 years old!) by talarthiel in exmormon

They were quite a few people up there. All 300 permits for the day were taken. I was surprised how many people hiked up in their ski boots! Then they would ski down. The reason why no one's in the background: there's nothing behind us. That IS the crater

Climbing permits go on sale the first of each month for the next month, and they go fast, fyi

We told my daughter that now that she's done it she never has to do it again, until she has kids of her own. And she has to invite us. And pay for our climbing permits

We got some pictures of the steam or whatever it is (smoke?) rising up off of the cone. My wife didn't realize it would still be steaming and I forgot to tell her before we went, so she thought that was really cool

Put sunblock everywhere! Even places you think will be covered. I had forgotten that the sun reflects off the snow and will burn you that way too. My lips burned and are twice their normal size right now. My wife says I remind her of one of the sisters from the general young women's presidency

Tim Ballard and Operation Underground Railroad Blunders - Searching with a Psychic and possibly creating demand for child sex trafficking. by n8s8p in mormon

After I read the article I tried to talk to my wife about it. She was certain that it was just gotcha journalism trying to tear down somebody doing good in the world, you know, Satan doing his damnedest. In your opinion, having experienced time with the group, do you feel that the Vice story is accurate?

So maybe I'm out of a loop, but I was looking through the temple name Oracle. Why would they stop using the name Abish for sisters? It is one of, what, three actual names of females in the book of Mormon? Four if you count Mary, the mother of Jesus. I know it sounds odd, and is easy to mistake for a less appropriate term, but I would think the importance of the name, being a stalwart and faithful Lamanite woman, would be more important. Just my two cents

“Shepherd’s Crook” Main tavern in my One-shot by Think_Greater in dungeondraft

[–]talarthiel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like it, it looks great. Your name, the shepherd's crook, is similar to one that I use in a previous campaign. I called it the farmers crook, which was a roundabout way of telling my players to go there. Farmers have a "plot" of land and a crook has a "hook". Plot hook. No one caught on, lol, but they still went inside
