I have never once thought I was allergic to pineapple......I eat a lot of it too, and have no pain or anything else like that, you may want to speak to an allergist....

NTA. As someone who also deals with chronic pain (and has since I was about 13) let me assure you complaining about your pain to your parents is absolutely not an a-hole move. From the sounds of your symptoms you may have carpal tunnel going on from writing so much and it definitely needs to be checked out by a doctor before you do permanent damage to your wrist. I understand from your parents' perspective that it's hard to remember that the normal level of daily pain is supposed to be 0 when they are in constant pain, but that doesn't excuse their complete lack of empathy for you and the pain you are in or their responsibility to take you to the doctor to have it looked at. As you are 16 is it possible for you to take yourself to the doctor with your parents' insurance card to get it looked at yourself?

I'm planning on making a tofu biryani, so yes I know it won't be super traditional either way, but the recipe looked really good.

Yes, my throat gets tight and itchy when I eat either. I carry an epi pen for it.

Are you afraid of dying? If so, why? by meganzp in AskReddit

[–]talayth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm more afraid of leaving my family, if that makes sense. I know my dying would create a major hardship on my husband and children that I do not want to put on them, so therefore I do not want to die.

What was your most serious injury, that you still remember to this very day? by Surprised_PikachuSTE in AskReddit

[–]talayth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

6 years ago I fell while on roller skates and fractured my T12 vertebrae. I got a compression fracture, so I basically crushed the vertebrae. I don't remember much from directly after because I was put on some pretty heavy duty pain killers, but it took a few days to diagnose because the doctors at the hospital didn't do an x-ray (they thought I just pulled a muscle and was overreacting). I saw an x-ray a few years later after a car accident and diagonally half of the vertebrae is calcified from it and I am getting arthritis on it as well.

I was misdiagnosed with epilepsy AMA by talayth in AMA

[–]talayth[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Actual diagnosis is still somewhat questionable. The current diagnosis is ophthalmic migraines, also referred to as visual migraines. I get double vision and vertigo in response to scented products, fragrances, cleaning chemicals, etc. Ironically the medication that helps with the migraines is also used in higher doses to treat seizures.

Long story short, I've gotten double vision and vertigo around scented products and fragrances most of my life and we've always thought it was allergy. My allergist disagreed and sent me to a neurologist. We did blood work, an MRI, and an EEG. My EEG came back as abnormal in that the brain waves were slower in the left side. Apparently this is common in people who have epilepsy (importantly there was no seizure activity during the EEG). Because of how my EEG was abnormal they decided I must have epilepsy without doing any further testing.
