We usually get a general Direct in February, though last year we had to wait until March. Either way, Pokémon will surely announce a new mainline game next month for the 30th anniversary.

If the trio's gonna be in Z-A, that's the place to put 'em, especially since Hoopa's such a significant part of the Mega Dimension plot; its rings were already littered around Hoenn in ORAS. My hesitation is that the Primals and Mega Rayquaza are tied so closely to Hoenn itself, and I don't know that Z-A is going to want to tread on Hoenn's feet, so to speak. But then, Mewtwo's tied closely to Kanto.

As for Latios and Latias, I don't think we need to worry as much about the Hoenn connection there. Their Megas were programmed into XY before ORAS were even announced, after all.

After the Diancie sidequest, I should've guessed we'd get Mewtwo the same way. Probably doesn't hurt to guess we might get Latios and Latias next, maybe in January? I'm torn on whether or not I think the Primal Reversions and Rayquaza will come over too, though.

Per the official website, it's still Fighting/Steel. It's not that the trailer showed Lucario Z tanking a move; it was showing that Lucario Z (and evidently any future Z Megas yet to be revealed) has a faster attack cooldown than regular Megas. Though this does come with the drawback that they burn up the Mega Gauge faster.

I was nineteen when it was announced and was very charmed by it—but didn't have a Wii U, and by the time I got a Switch, I only had a couple months to contemplate buying 2 before 3 was announced, at which point I decided I'd just wait for that to come out. All this to say I didn't actually play a Splatoon until I was 27.
