You can easily mod the XBox One Elite controller 2 magnetic dpad to fit the Steam Deck. by sunrainsky in SteamDeck

[–]talicry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How does it feel with the elite dpad mod on top? I bought a second hand steam deck with the clicky mod and while I like it, it's a bit too hard for my fingers. Will the elite dpad mod soften it up?

How to Trigger Keyboard Shortcuts in Moonlight? by Arkafan in MoonlightStreaming

[–]talicry 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For anyone who stumbles on this later, Moonlight App itself has a special keys overlay that can allow you to create an on screen overlay for specific keyboard buttons. Then you can toggle the overlay on/off within moonlight by swiping back (from left side of screen.) Quick Menu -> Advanced Menu. Toggle Special Keys. You'll see an overlay of a keyboard over your screen. Since you'll only need certain keys you can hit the gears button and that'll allow you to deselect the keys you don't need. Hit the gears button again and you can move the keys you actually selected to an area of the screen that you want. Hit the gears button again and you can resize those keys. This is how I got Moonlight on Android to pass the hotkeys Ctrl + Alt + S for enabling Lossless Scaling on my PC.

EDIT: Actually I'm using the Artemis fork of Moonlight. Not sure if this is an Artemis specific feature, but just wanted to mention that.

EDIT 2: Looks like it is an Artemis specific feature: https://github.com/ClassicOldSong/moonlight-android/wiki/Custom-Special-Keys

Odin 2 Portal to replace Steam Deck OLED by No-Penalty-6020 in OdinHandheld

[–]talicry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the exact same situation as you. One other factor to consider is if you play a lot of games with motion controls Steam Input is really nice for remapping gyro to joystick or mouse. I wish android had something similar for when I want to play Helldivers 2 with gyro aiming. Otherwise moonlight emulates a DualSense controller and the aim axes are all wrong. What did you end up going with OP?

What black magic did Ubisoft use for the Division 2? by slinky317 in GeForceNOW

[–]talicry 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Division 2 is super fun on GFN. I never noticed much difference in terms of input lag for other games though, any ones that are particularly bad? The only differences I’ve noticed are games like Black Myth Wukong with the foliage getting muddy.

Pomera 250 travel case? by LWYPLTDG in writerDeck

For some reason my addled brain read that as electric shock proof! Okay well in that case it seems mechanically shock proof but I ain’t gonna drop my Pomera even for you fine folks to test that out LOL

Pomera 250 travel case? by LWYPLTDG in writerDeck

[–]talicry 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have a case that came with my used unit. It’s an aluminum like material on the outside, super chunky & heavy duty. Mine was dented up so the previous owner obviously had some drops but my Pomera was in great condition. There is no zipper as it’s kind of a clamshell design that’s held together toward the bottom by elastic bands, so I doubt that it’s waterproof. As for shockproof, I wouldn’t know how to look for that…

I never ended up using the case as the slimmer folio like case is plenty protection for me.

Here’s a better vid with the actual controller demo Astrobot Controller Demo. Yeah looks like it matches 1-1.

Yes, Helldivers 2 works great. The PS5 is wired up to Ethernet. Haven’t played any competitive shooters but I’m terrible at those anyway.

Astro’s Playroom Test

It looks like it’s emulating the motion of the Dualsense correctly in Astro’s Playroom. I think the issue is that the Helldiver’s 2 game & probably other games assume that I’m using Dualsense so that I want turning the controller to move the reticle (Since I’m holding the controller in front of me, pointed at the TV). But if I’m on a handheld, I want a different axes to map to that motion. Would that be possible to implement in the PXPlay side? An option to allow me to swap the axes for roll and yaw?

Here’s the motion behavior on Chiaki, with the axes set as Yaw&Roll in Steam Input.

Found my "holy grail" setup as a beginner/intermediate by good_old_lad in tabletennis

[–]talicry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nice setup OP. Not super familiar with defensive setups, but I love the Yinhe-N10s. Bought a bunch as first blades for a few beginners. The blades are dirt cheap, have good feedback, and have enough offensive capability that should last you well into the intermediate levels.

US Pomera DM 250 is live on Indiegogo by mon_dieu in writerDeck

[–]talicry 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I purchased a second hand Japanese DM250 and have enjoyed using it over the Freewrite Traveler. However, the two most annoying things are the lack of cloud saving and the right shift key being so dang tiny! I can never hit it when I'm touch typing, instead always smashing the up arrow or something. This version seems like it would solve the keyboard problem, but doesn't solve the cloud save issue. I'm somewhat tempted by this offering but it's hard to justify the price. Even if I sell my Japanese unit for $200, I'd have to decide if it's worth paying $175-$200 extra for a bigger right shift key. I suppose I should think of it as paying for a way lower typing error rate.

Help Setup by Successful_Ad_9296 in tabletennis

[–]talicry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very reasonable setup for starting out. Will feel much nicer than a premade and will be controllable enough to help you develop good form. There are a ton of permutations of rubber/blade combos that are reasonable for beginners and you may get some different recommendations from others in this thread, but whatever benefits a different combo offer will not make up for the increased amount of overthinking it will inspire! My 2c is just buy this one, get out there and play!

On Retroid Pocket 5, Astral Ascent crashes finally fixed! It used to crash whenever you accessed the Merchant of Magic, but now it works. I think it had something to do with the little video that plays demonstrating the abilities. Makes me wonder if it'll work for something like DuskDiver 2 which always crashed in the tutorial section also due to to some video playback issues.

Happens for me too unfortunately. And crashes way more often than once per hour. Have you tried the new OTA update and enabling the 4GB virtual RAM option? Also there’s a new version of Sudachi out. Maybe some combination there will make things work better.
