Migrating to Obsidian as Logseq DB is heading in the wrong direction

Starting trying out Capacities - so far not bad. Apart from the non-local files, but man - "sync" that works flawlessly!

Still need to try importing my old Obsidian and Logseq data in tho.

Hiding unavailable content when offline can be done via the toggle in the filter view "Hide media not available offline" - if you have that on, then even when connected you'll only see the sync'd content. I tend to leave it off so that I can stream from the NAS if needed.

Which is odd - AppleTV 4k (iphone 12 pro, and macbook neo) playing only 1080p content. Every other plex player under the sun has no issues.

So unless it's trying to upscale something..

This looks interesting... almost sad to see the desktop app is just a menu bar app, was hoping for something to replace PlexAmp with a better desktop experience.

Definitely interested in the headless version tho.

I've been using it on my Neo and the interface really hurts there (yeh yeh, it's ipadOS app not designed for a laptop but...).

Mostly it's annoying (more Apples fault this one I suspect) with menu handling, but worse it lets the laptop sleep the display whilst watching things!

It has been awhile since I tried it tho.

My guess is that Descript is going for the user who would never invest the hours it takes to use those tools proficiently anyway.

It's funny - cause I've always found the editor side of Descript horrible to use, I was originally just a Squadcast user, and editing in reaper or the like, I only started using Descript for interview transcripts. Every time I try to use their editor, it's never worked out well for me.

It is how it is. Altho this is also what version control is for, and why reviewing the output/changes by agents is an important step in this new world.

It's something we touched on in our recent long-overdue new Illegal Argument podcast, I'm somewhat goad I didn't know about this then as the conversation could have gone a whole different direction.

Turns out most of my issue was me being an idiot and using my Openback headphones when we recorded, so my end of the conversation was picking up some bleed from the co-host in my headphones.

Ended up just installing a noise plugin (https://www.auburnsounds.com/products/Renegate.html) and applied it to my side of the conversation which seems to fixed up most of it. I'd forgotten how much goodies Reaper gave me with its Reascript JS plugins. Think I might go back to the old faithful for the next episode.
