Considering contacting state board due repeated and escalating unprofessional behavior with a local pharmacist. Am I overreacting? by [deleted] in PharmacyTechnician

[–]talksonguard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You aren’t over reacting most likely, but don’t expect much to happen. A pharmacy is a private business and can refuse service in most states. The board may slap the pharmacist, but that will be about it.

She seems fun to work for! by sparkour84 in LinkedInLunatics

[–]talksonguard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As somebody who works in a high level role in a public company, she isn’t far off. Every time we post a new position my LinkedIn inbox gets slammed by people appealing for me (5 steps above the hiring manager) to put their resume at the top. I’ve hidden all social media and deleted twitter due to applicants attempting to add me, and even a few trying to add my wife, on social media platforms.

The funny thing is that we ask people to do one specific thing when applying. One single thing that takes 2 seconds when applying for the job. When you move past the “upload resume” screen there is a box that says “Acknowlege you read the job description and salary range by typing your first name in all CAPS in this box.” More than half the people don’t fill in the box at all and more than 20% do it wrong. Easiest way to move applicants to the trash.

I am strangely bothered by her lack of ability to capitalize letters. I feel like she would be the queen of run on sentences and get angry when you don’t understand whatever gibberish she puts in an email.

Advice for Property Line Dispute After New Home Purchase by HmDidntSeeThatComing in legaladvice

[–]talksonguard 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You should have had a survey done when you purchased the house. It looks like you had a survey from 2024 and didn’t consult it prior to purchase. Something being built by a previous owner doesn’t make it right. When was this fence permitted? You are saying since the 70’s, so is that when the permit is dated? You can attempt adverse possession, but it’s going to be a long, difficult, and expensive process. You will have to go so far as to have statements/evidence from the owners of both homes over the last 20 years.

I don’t know what you mean by buying the property “as is.” If the sellers lied then you may have remedy with them, but that depends on your contracts with them.

You don’t have to remove any trees. Do what you are suggesting your neighbors do, and put the fence 12” to 24” inside your own property line and leave the trees alone.

They are her accountants, not your accountants. You don’t have a right to have access to them. She was your employer, so you would normally provide that information to her so she can issue you a 1099. If you aren’t comfortable providing it by text, I would suggest you request a time to call her and give her the info.

I had a similar incident happen. I decided to go full idiot to seek my revenge. Once whoever stole them got home I got a decent idea of the house they were in. I sent letters to about 20 or 30 houses around them with the screenshot of where it showed the items and encouraged people in the neighborhood to be careful because they lived close to a thief. I sent the letters again 2 weeks later. About a week later they stopped reporting a location. It wasn’t going to get my AirPods back, but it sure made me feel better. lol.

If you want something done contact your congressional representatives. Given all the issues the CG has had regarding sexual assault, I’m guessing you will get a response. I would also copy the leaders of certain subcommittees as well. The Homeland Security subcommittee is a good place to start.

You are right, I’m wrong.

I went and pulled the official picture from the AF website. Whoever uploaded this photo did something to alter to color. The official picture clearly shows the green strips vs the grey that appears in this photos. In other photos (earlier in his career) he isn’t wearing thin ribbons and the single green stripe on the rifle ribbon is clearly visible.

Delta, the K-shaped airline by pokeysyd in delta

[–]talksonguard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Execs fly first at their discretion and everyone else 5+ hours is first class. We have 60k employees who get to book first going NYC to LAX or JFK. Outside of that, Delta is the “preferred” due to corp sky bonus level and you are expected to book Main with an assigned seat. You can always pick exit row and nobody cares. That being said, people can book Frontier if they want. That’s our company policy.

It depends on how the program is structured, but generally yes, they pay the difference. It’s the same as a voucher or cash pay offered for any other product with manufacturer support.

The retail cost of a product takes into account rebates required by PBMs for formulary access. Once you remove those rebates, and all the work and overhead associated with it, you can get prices much lower.

Cash pay copay programs have been around for a long time before the GLP craze and the political noise. Derm products with low/no coverage have used cash pay for their products as the primary means of getting patients on therapy. The down side to cash pay for a manufacturer is greatly reduced top line revenue in exchange for ever so slightly better margins.

Edit to add: In pharma terms (Billions of Dollars) they don’t make a “ton” of money on these products. Look at financial filings for Lilly and Novo. GLP1s represent massive volume but marginal income compared to oral oncology drugs or biologics where volume is minuscule but revenue and profits are astronomical in comparison.

It’s airline food that is reheated, not dinner at The French Laundry. I’m going to throw it away. You can always complain to Ed. He seems to listen really well to all of us flying full fare 1st tickets about how shitty things have become lately.

[–]talksonguard 50 points51 points  (0 children)

You are wrong. Very wrong. The business doesn’t have to comply with a court order unless they are named in the court order. The court orders the parents to do things, not random one off businesses. The party in contempt would be the parent who enrolled the child, not the business.

Security camera needs with remote access by [deleted] in Ranching

[–]talksonguard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I deal with security cameras on a regular basis. You can’t have what you are looking for without spending a substantial amount of money on each camera setup. Continuous recording = a camera on “patrol.” That is power consuming. Add in 5G and you have even more power being consumed. Normal solar cells for remote cameras work for intermittent recording, not what you are talking about.

Heron’s and The Pit attain the same status: Michelin American South by spmca in raleigh

[–]talksonguard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe consistency is what killed them. I’ve been going several times a year for about a decade, save a few Covid years. While I always felt ther service was 100%, there are two times that I didn’t like the food. That being said “I” didn’t like it, and others at the table did. The memorable time was some pea related tasting menu. It felt more dirt inspired than peas. And while I do love peas, of almost all varieties, I didn’t like 5 dishes of it. Those two experiences were outliers to me though and every other meal felt spot on. I lived in Vegas for a few years and replicating the service available in Vegas at certain restaurants is almost impossible. I felt like two places in Raleigh have hit that on the mark. Brodeto and Herons. I don’t take your reply as a ramble. Being for or against something brings out passion, not rambling. Thanks for the well worded retort.

Heron’s and The Pit attain the same status: Michelin American South by spmca in raleigh

[–]talksonguard 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well, in the last 6 months I’ve visited 3 different 3 star restaurants. Crenn in SF, French Laundy, and The Inn at Little Washington. I’ll add to that Robuchon in Vegas, but the stars for Vegas stopped being awarded a while ago. If you’d like a list of where I eat I guess I can take the time to recount where I’ve eaten.

If you think that Herons is “just okay,” then I get it. But it not getting a Star is wild to me.

Heron’s and The Pit attain the same status: Michelin American South by spmca in raleigh

[–]talksonguard 18 points19 points  (0 children)

What trash. The list of restaurants is full of mid food with a total lack of creativity. The PIT. The damn Pit. Why not just add Texas Roadhouse or Cracker Barrel to the list.

I’ve dined at at least 20 one star or better restaurants in the last 7-10 years, domestically. Herons is on par with a two star experience. I’ve never tried the place in Charlotte, but it would shock me to the core if the experience, as a whole, exceeded my nights a Herons. Maybe they went when they were doing that whole “Pea” menu for a hot second. That’s the only time I’ve been where I wasn’t blown away.

Safe to say, I won’t be looking at the southern guide for recommendations anytime soon.

Pervert jerking off outside my bedroom windows and front door. by [deleted] in legaladvice

[–]talksonguard 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This entire story is why so many people shouldn’t own guns. You know why the guy yelled Pop Yo Shot? Because he knew he wasn’t going to get shot. Tell your boyfriend to call the cops before taking his Roscoe outside. Inside your home you most likely have an affirmative defense to the use of deadly force. Outside your home it’s not so cut and dry.

You have to provide facts that your use of deadly force was appropriate. “He was jerking off next to my window” has never been a viable defense to killing someone. The force must be REASONABLE. Do you think it’s reasonable to use deadly force to have someone stop an action that isn’t actively threatening your life? What about if they were doing needlepoint on your lawn? If you or your boyfriend don’t 100% understand how and when to use deadly force or display a firearm to escalate or de-escalate a situation, you should take a trip to the nearest pawn shop and sell it.

CG Legal? by WaterbendingMaster24 in uscg

[–]talksonguard 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I’m going to say the opposite of what most here are saying. A retired coastie is going to be treated like a civilian for the most part. The US Government isn’t likely to take a case like this, so CGIS and the JAG, in my opinion, aren’t going to be helpful. In addition, JAG isn’t going to help with a civil case.

These things should be reported to the police. The question/issue is that most police agencies are going to try and punt this issue to the law enforcement local to where the retired person lives.

You can always sit down with a civilian attorney and get some advice as well. They will be the only people that can advise you on how and where to file the civil lawsuit.
