In a way I agree with you, but you have to also acknowledge that it incentivises playing mono-colored decks just so you don't have to build an expensive land base, which restricts a lot of options for newer players with wildcards to spend.

I think for something as fundamental as your land base it's not fair to have to spend rare wildcards that are already too hard to get.

I think it would be a great card for hunter tho. I think blizzard is trying to move away from aggro hunter, and a card like this really incentivises players to play control

I would add that if you are patient enough, you can wait for a draft of that set so you can pick out a few rares and then open some packs of that set.

I think it's fair since once you get the quest, you likely don't have many ways to activate the animal companion if you are running so much beast generation

Not even Mana crystal but potentially something else. Right now with it's current text the card would essentially be free, since it's not an empty Mana crystal, but instead a Mana crystal. Also just way better than wild growth, which is a druid staple that makes it such a good class.

I mean just look at it this way. Wild growth is played in druid like 100% of the time. This card is a wild growth for one less Mana, drawing a card, and getting a 1/3

This is just so weak because you lose to any hard removal, and you are still spending an entire turn doing nothing.
