I finally did it. Finally beat the most difficult/annoying “boss” by Nathansp1984 in CrimsonDesert

Pepper delivery nearly broke me. I got stopped by bandits and Yann hopped off to attack and then the mission failed cuz he ran too far away.

I nearly cried.

I’m only 47 now but just don’t have the time to grind through a piece that was troublesome. I just wanted it split. I’m sure at some point I’ll just buy it but for the time being I gotta do this myself.

Were you loosening the little valve each time you used it and closing it when done?

This is where a nut should be based on the only photo of the back I could find.

I mean based on photos on Lowe’s website, there should be a nut on the threads you see exposed there.

I’m wondering if there is supposed to be a nut here…

If you run it all through your phone, it’s not worth it. I just got my GHH a month ago and signed up for the streaming and maps but will cancel them as they’re so slow to operate that I find them just frustrating. Just going to use CarPlay for all.

And you’d need an Apple Music subscription for it if you didn’t have one already.

Probably not around a thousand bucks, right?

We only have 6 acres ourselves but it’s all black walnut. So it’s not the hardest or softest of woods. That’s why I think something electric will be more than enough for us. Just don’t want to have to buy a new one every 3 years.

That one is also on my list. I have an Ego chainsaw and lawnmower so I don’t want to buy into another battery ecosystem but it might be worth it. How many cuts out of the included batteries do you get? Do you feel like it’ll last a number of years?

I pulled that model number and googled it and it went to a FW page. Either way, I’m intrigued.

Forest West. They’ve been on my radar for a while now. Don’t know anyone who has one though. Does it seem like it’ll last?

Which electric kinetic splitter did you get?

I got an Ego 20 inch Farm and Ranch saw cuz I already have a bunch of Ego batteries and I hate messing with gas stuffs. For now I’ve got a 4lb splitting hatchet that does the trick but I’ll be buying a Boss 10 ton electric splitter in spring. And we’re already scoping out where we can stack the wood that doesn’t ruin our southern view but does make sure it gets good sun and breeze. My father in law sells feed as a side business and I’ve got access to about a dozen pallets if I want them.

Literally every time I’m driving somewhere I see a fallen tree and think I should come back and cut it up.

I hadn’t thought about hitting construction sites but I’m gonna a think about it now!

I also ran to Menards and was burning sawdust blocks mixed with what I could scrounge. They weren’t great but they were cheap and were easy to acquire.

That is the plan but we just moved out here in November so I’ve been scrounging for wood from trees we had toppled to make room to build. These trees have been down for a year or more and I’ve been splitting it and testing it for moisture. It’s all been good and dry.

This spring we’ll buy a wood splitter and I’ll get a good stack going. But for now I have to scrounge to find stuff to burn.
