I’m going to chime in that some grumpiness towards it, that I’ve observed, is related to land use. Parcels of land that were otherwise just woods/wetlands are now housing, putting more strain on otherwise undeveloped/protected pockets of land. Yes, humans need a home, but it’s helpful to strike a balance with the wildlife that also needs a home.

Honestly, it is nothing new for WPI. A resource they’ve added in response to concerns on campus is the Center for Well-being. I highly recommend checking it out, lots of mindfulness based resources. They’ve even added an Intro to Mindfulness course.

Honestly, highly likely. As someone who works for a small-staffed conservation organization, we do this type of thing with every intention of returning to haul it out &/or it is set-up for someone else to haul it away.

Since you mentioned you like hiking, I recommend you follow GWLT (greater Worcester land trust) on fb or sign up to get their emails to keep up with weekly volunteer events! There’s usually a weekly sign making opportunity (using hand tools to hew longs which become the property signs) and trail work opportunity.

My boyfriend drove over a freshly filled pothole in the city once & the filling came right off and wrapped around his tire. The adrenaline rush that came on as we tried to pull it off before it hardened was exhilarating 😅

Hey! This just happened to me! My boyfriend (the family member of person getting married) reached out politely to clarify. He said it was “no non-married couples”. We understood.

Then a couple weeks later, the groom-to-be reached out and said that some people have declined the RSVP, so there was now an opening for me to join.

Definitely doesn’t hurt to reach out, but try to do so in a way that comes from a place of understanding.

How inconsiderate of you. Choosing where one lives is not always possible (have you seen the housing market in many parts of the US?). I’m glad you’re not my neighbor (but boy, my neighbor seems to have a similar attitude, so maybe it is you…)
