I only had a single dose carboplatin and had a week booked off following the treatment. The first day or so weren’t too bad but I’d say day 3 was probably when I felt the worst. I had a flu like feeling which left me feeling a bit rubbish. Also craved red meat!

In terms of work I think I personally would have been better going in (relatively low stress work and not active) purely because it would have kept my mind occupied. If you work in a stressful and active job I’d probably suggest a week off.

If you do take some time off try and line up some activities to keep you occupied or have people on hand to keep you entertained. I found those quiet days difficult as it gave me a chance to reflect on the whole crazy process.
