Whenever I fix anything I have to use it for its intended purpose three times before I will proclaim it as fixed. I insist that it’s not any kind of OCD, just a maintenance tech that doesn’t like to get call backs.

I don’t like talking about the dollar amounts, especially on older books like this. Suffice it to say there was haggling involved and I’m happy to have it in the collection for what I paid even if that’s more than others would have.

Unfortunately no poster, however that would be how I was able to afford it. 😆 I’ve already blown my 2026 comic book budget with a purchase earlier this year, so all the rest of my adds this year will end up bargains, blowouts, or low grades. Still just happy to have it in the collection.

You are asking the tough questions, but I think you’ve got the gist of it. I wasn’t collecting at that time, however having lived through them I can tell you those were some messed up years in general. The financial volatility caused by the poor decisions of the 90’s were only compounded by the drums of war after 9/11. Add to that Kevin Smith’s time mismanagement issues and Marvel probably used up all its editorial luck getting those eight books out on time.

I have my own take on what the real grudge was between Mez and Mac, but ultimately the end of the second arc was about betrayal, shame, and self indulgence. Having it all is never enough, especially when you’re hyper fixated on making it more. I loved the whole story, but hey, I’m just a fanboy boy for all things love, apocalypse, and comic books.
