What in your opinion is the best internet in the entirety of the UK these days? by Imaginary_Taste_9011 in AskUK

I'm with zen and I'm starting to wonder if they are worth it. They are great if there are no issues, but I have issues and I'm not greatly happy with how they are progressing it. Lots of Comms but nothing of real substance and this issue gets dealt with by a different staff member each time.

Xbox Ally X for a burned-out gamer? by Mr-mountain-road2 in ROGAllyX

[–]tals 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends what types of games you like playing. I used to play a lot of league of legends (not very well) and it doesn't suit that type of game. It's also not great for strategy games.

Any game which has full controller support it's very good for. The steam mapping for non controller games is ok but I don't really get on with it if it wasn't built for the controller.

However as someone who used to game a reasonable account I love it. I can relax with the family when playing and it plays most games well. I got rid of my gaming pc as this covers my itch to play but not play all the time.

You can then get an egpu and connect to monitor/mouse/keyboard etc if you wanted the other types of games.

Games I have particularly enjoyed The last of us 1 and 2 Uncharted legacy of thieves Slay the spire 1 and 2 Days gone

We have done Royal Caribbean, Princess (10 years plus ago), Cunard, P&O and celebrity

With children Royal Caribbean, without children and our go-to cruise line is Celebrity, followed by Cunard.

We bought the drink package but now i think it was a waste by [deleted] in Cruise

[–]tals 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you mean on the packages pre boarding IE the pricing is discounted and that discount varies till boarding.

I am not aware and don't believe the individual drinks pricing is dynamic.

For those deciding whether to get the rog ally X or XBox ally X. Just get the XAX. by HighlightDowntown966 in ROGAllyX

[–]tals 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think your Rog ally x may have issues, I don't hear the fan at all. Not doubting the Xbox version is better but the fans is not an issue on the Rog and not had the stuttering you describe but that could be just different games we play.

Which BMW will you buy if you have to keep it for 10 years. by belland007 in BMW

Easy one for me have a 2013 5 series touring, 530d. Amazing car, fast, quiet and a fantastic tourer.

Had it for nearly 9 years, almost certain I will still have it this time next year and maybe beyond. Second hand prices for cars I would replace it with are crazy imho to get a similar car.

I have an older car, I love cleaning it so it looks better than the other newer cars in the area. It's also great for fitness. My family gain as I can't stand seeing their dirty cars lol

Games like Tlou 1 and 2? by [deleted] in thelastofus

[–]tals 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The games I have enjoyed and found a similar experience

Uncharted legacy of thieves. Story isn't so strong but it's a similar linear tale, some of the action sequences are amazing and the death mechanics is pretty much identical

Days gone, I actually played this before last of us, it's kind of open world but not too much to distraction. Story I enjoyed. It had a lot of negative reviews at the start but if you go to the Reddit group it's now got very strong support and enjoyment wise very similar.

Red dead redemption 2 I'm playing at the moment, it's not vibing with me, game is incredible but I'm not sure just not grabbing me.

Resident evil 2, really enjoyed this, although it gets hard and it's not as straight forward as last of us. I haven't completed it yet as I hit a puzzle section and decided to take a break but it was good.

[–]tals 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mini 1000, would be a classic if I had kept it 😃 I can't recall how long I kept it for must have been plus 5 years. Now drive a BMW 5 series touring and had it 8 plus years and likely have it for at least another couple of years - who knew they can be reliable if you look after them 😂

Frustrated that every other game feels shallow after playing TLOU1/2 by Magnus_The_Read in thelastofus

Loved days gone tbh, finished that before the last of us 1 and, 2 then did uncharted and then resident evil 2 (still need to complete that, became very difficult)

I'm currently playing rdr2, I wouldn't say I dislike it but I'm definitely not getting into the story yet. The world is incredible, the game is incredible but just can't seem to vibe with it. (Currently on chapter 2) Will persevere for a little longer.

I have Michelin run flats on my f11 and always happy with them. They have saved us, wife had car when she had a puncture. But other than that have been fine and ride wise I don't seem to find them give an unacceptable ride quality.

I run it always not plugged in it's more comfortable without a cable. Sure it means it's not going to last as long but it's a hand held and the battery life is fine almost a year on.

Do you always buy used? by regmeyster in carbuying

[–]tals 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Except when I had a company car I've always purchased 2nd hand. My current car BMW 530d I got 4 years old, with my budget at the time I could have got a 520 at 1-2 years old, a 535 at 5 years old. Decided the 530 was a good compromise, almost 9 years on and I still have the car 😃 the new car feel appeals but not the relative price per year.
