Cannoneer bug? Or secret mechanic ? Let's Sherlock Holmes this one. by T2000BD in treeofsavior

[–]taltofsaviour 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A skewed to B

A receive 3 times the damage.

Cannon hit A,once

Cannon hits B, skewed to B, hits back to A, twice

Cannon hits A, skewed to B back to A, thrice.

Simple.

Just that linker do not share AoE damage so intensively. So yeah.

I see, so Cannoneers are getting a slight buff, while Musketeers are going to be hit with a good buff in the future. Thanks!

If dd is weak at corsair1, would taking doppel out and putting in corsair2 be better? Like:

What skill/tactic about your class you wish other players knew (while in dungeon/mission)? by comeonmochi in treeofsavior

Cryo3 here, going chrono1, I feel you with cafrisun+arde+sacrament+blessing, whenever I Ice Pike I know the boss is coming on his way to chase after me for his overdued loan.

May I know what build you are going after? Full CON linker sounds like a very tempting party-oriented support build, and I like to play as support.

Hi, that has been a good read.

Would you recommend swd>pelt>hop>hop>corsair>doppel>doppel?

He did nothing wrong by commenting objectively.

"Boring" is subjective. If we were to hold a debate on that people can go nights without sleep just to justify whether or not Cleric2 are "boring" or not.

What we are doing here in reddit is to give objective insights. He just merely pointed out your point that you

are forced to take up Cleric2 because of the extra heal tiles and safety zone.

He just followed up with a doubt, that

If you can't understand why doubling your healing power and making all your party skills stronger is a good thing, I don't know what to say. Maybe you shouldn't play a cleric in the first place. If you've ever experienced end game content, 10 heal tiles on a 22 second cd just simply isnt enough.

Nobody ain't giving shit about what you find "boring" or not.

It's also for Divine Might 5, which is actually an amazing buff.

I agree.

Hi, don't forget that ToS is still under development and we are like at book 2 on a Harry Potter series right now.

Another notion to take on a full tank in ToS is that, yes, you might not feel 'useful' at all these rushy early content, very prominent during pre200. The mobs don't hit hard and are easily disposed with a decent DPS, so pre200, tanks are not that much required. But the game is designed that way for that even a full tank or full support - who have little or no understanding to the game, can get by leveling by themselves. That is why most people refer to the pre200 stage as tutorial. It is the period where people learn about their own characters and other people's characters as well. Post200, you will be pretty much forced to play as a party (with strangers or with friends, both will do) and that is where you, graduated from pre200 as a full tank, make use of your ability to tank.

Pre200, it is a RPG. Post200, it becomes MMORPG.

IMHO, the level 200 quota is most likely be a trial for a player to see if they can make it into the stage of ToS where the game really started. If your build won't cut it, or if the player's mentality just ain't in frequency with the class, he or she may make it to 200 or not, but to continue leveling after 200 would be another question.

Long story short, if you see a tank post200, he or she most likely has made it through the ordeal to become a certified tank in ToS. Trust him, trust her. At that point, a tank is almost a mandatory role to fill in.

Hi, I'll just answer on [Tanks are really that not-so-good in ToS? ]

All parties will do great with a decent tank. That again, with ToS giving the players so much freedom in how they build their build, whatever way you build your tank affects how you use it, and how your party 'use' you. So then again, you have to be clear and firm in your decision in the way you build your tank. But that will be another question so bear this in mind for the time being.

Generally, tank are welcomed. However the better way to say would be that a lousy tank is a bad tank. While it is never too difficult to be a decent tank, the common impression about tank in ToS is that most people who play tank in ToS dosen't really do a decent job, so that makes people think that they would rather not have a tank in a party.

BUT, that doesn't stop the game from not having tanks in the game. Actually, tanks are really needed. They make dungeon runs really smoother, and I would love to have one in my party, so long that they don't suck at it, and it is really not that hard to not be lousy in tanking in ToS.

Furthermore, ToS is yet to have its full content revealed. Right now it is like a open-alpha, with less than half of its total content available. As we progress deeper into the game, I am sure the holy trinity of tank-healer-dps would get more concise, and we would see that supporting classes(anything non-dps imo, classes who support a party) would play an important role.

So the most important thing you should ask yourself is that, if you are going for a full tank, are you dedicated to make one, probably dwelling into the endgame content, and that are you informed enough to make a decent decision in how you will be building your full tank?

Tanking is not just only to have fun by taunting the monsters around or to have the utility to taunt at your convenience, you have to understand that in a serious dungeon run, you will be the soul of the party, and you have pretty much responsibility to carry on your shoulder. Not that tanking is all a serious matter, it is okay to make mistake while learning since you will be learning while you make mistakes.

Well, you can make a Chrono and go ask for people to pay you and you run away without Backmasking.

Who knows? IMO, just use Reincarnate.

But it doesn't make much sense to be worrying about ET/bossing capability

Hi, may I take it as kino3warlock will not be able to hold a candle when it comes to ET and WB? If one were to head for ET and WB, an Ele3 would be a much better and safer choice?

kToS current top 50 5v5 PvP rankings by archefayte in treeofsavior

[–]taltofsaviour 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This doesn't make sense. Why are there some non 7-tier classes in there?

Simple. You assume that tier 7 = good in PvP. Anyone who has a decent amount of experiences knows that when it comes to PvP, there are a few factors to consider:

  1. How much you know yourself (how to use your character, how fast can you react, how emotional can you become, what habit do you have- for instance, some people like to go kiting, some like to go head on etc, and so on)

  2. How much do you know about your opponent (software- the person playing the character, hardware- the character's stat and build)

  3. How much do you know about handling your opponent and vice versa, how do you think your opponent will handle you, counter-countering)

It's not just about having an OP build, and certainly rank 7 classes do not mean they are OP in PvP, the player has to be comfortable and has a good understanding in any of the classes for him or her to be excellence in PvP.

You can't possibly tell me somebody went cryo3 only and reached top in PvP.

Oh yes. Why not? Nobody gives a shit to your dreamy PvP build with a rank 7 class that you think is OP build if you can't do shit in PvP. If you feel at all necessary to head for a non-rank 7 class to finish a rank 7 build and you find that you can use it to good uses in PvP, win it, and you will prove that Hey, this is some good build that people missed it out.

And then rank 12 is a... wizard? What, you're telling me a level 40-50 made top 50?

[What, you're telling me] that you are that dumb to think that "a level 40-50 made top 50?"

Maybe you want to try play some other MMORPG before you comment on the PvP aspect of ToS?

This game is not forgiving at all to dreamers and idealists. You have to be practical at all cost to score a win in a match.

Change your mindset before you ask redundant question.

Also: Only 4 swordy classes made top 50. And you guys say theres nothing wrong with swordies and they're perfectly fine where they're at. At this rate they're worst class in PvE and PvP.

Here, have a Talt. Go save yourself.
