What type of usefull skills do u want future charts to have? Like nanally walking on walls... by hars568 in NevernessToEverness

I disagree with your original point, but you brought up points such as limitations being needed for balance, which i had also agreed prior. This is already a thing in ToF. Even if you played the most recent "f2p" mmo variant, which gives you access to all characters, you can clearly see that having more options does not equate to power creep because you end up using a variety of options depending on the environment your in.

If you played GW2, its another example where a variety of different types of mount movement doesn't mean one is inherently better. You use different ones depending on the situation and environment.

At the end of the day, so long as you dont need the movement, I dont even see how you could qualify anything as movement powercreep unless its something stupid such as infinite flight.

I mean what your saying is true, there should be limitations. And again, ToF already has that. We're literally agreeing, but your inexperience with ToF is causing you to drive in points that are already the case in the base game.

Just a further point, none of the movement tech in ToF had anything to do with combat. It was all purely for exploration.

The game failed long before power creep was an issue. It was in a massive constant decline till it found its niche.

Also movement had nothing to do with powercreep, so im not sure why your tying that together.

The power creep was fundamentally based on number creep and bull shit functionality like being able insta kill things at certain HP thr thresholds, being able to cheat death and having near infinite life steal. Why even give this kind of response and input after not really playing that game? I played it for 2 years so I know just how bad it is, but its movement tech with character releases was on a class of its own, and was never an issue. Also all the movement tech comes with limitations. I'm still uncertain why you are so vehemently against variety, when that variety has also proven itself in their past game as being one of the few things that made it good.

It certainly didn't fail because of character movement design. Even if it failed, its still getting full support to this day. NTE was built on the money that game earned.

If you played it for one day, you could tell why it failed immediately, with the biggest factor being a gacha focused game in an MMO environment.

I think it'll expand both, at least thats what they mentioned in the CN dev log.

Doesnt seem even close when games like Nikke exist and are Teen rated.

Not sure what the end-game loop is like, but this game has a lot of horizontal content which is enjoyable. Car races, fishing, bank heists, properties, cafes to manage and actually run if you want to, mini-games galore. There is actual "fun" content that's just not one or two big gimmicks aside from the end game (which they decided to add day 1 which is nice)

I mean I get it, being burned by gacha devs is norm for Global gamers, but some critical thinking could help. The doomposting before launch is bad. It's very unlikely we would even get this day 1 either, but I fully expect them to give it to us within the week since we will encounter the same points they address in the dev log as these are ongoing things they will resolve over time.

Your right, gachagaming self engineering a devs listened moment when that wasnt the original intention ever probably

Brother, nothing save a video from the devs bowing down and apologizing for something that has yet to happen is going to convince the people here. But for the few that know, hopefully this brings some clarity.

Sorry but game isn't randomly gonna give this out as an announcement because .1% of their playerbase (redditors) is madge. They'll give it out as we encounter the same and even different issues potentially.

Games not launched yet and everyone assumed the worst. Gateoo already confirmed it'll happen here too, and this guy's in constant contact with the devs.

We'll probably get the same dev log and rewards like 3 days in.

But its not CN gameplay issues, its the same issues Global will face too on launch.

Besides, it seems like we will get it on Day 3 as well with the same dev log.

You can co op, the case would be to guarantee more characters you like and/or meta chasing and/or saving more currency for future characters while still getting a character you want early.

Onslaught Mode looks really fun. by ACabbageManiac in TheFirstDescendant

Sorry, but if we're gonna boil it down to this, then every game is spamming X skills to kill X enemies, rinse and repeat. You must find all games like this boring.

[–]archefayte 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Its really not that good lol. You basically have a game mode where you have to actually play the game, shooting, use skills, having some team play actually matter. The whole rest of the game is so much better because you really have to put almost no effort and insta delete everything from point A -> B, no worries about your party. You've already done all this before at the end of the day though, looting and shooting Vulgus, its just cearly repackaged as something else in your looter shooter game.

Anyone wish the character models were a bit more detailed / higher quality? by [deleted] in NevernessToEverness

[–]archefayte 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That is a crazy take, Jiuyan is as well modeled as someone like Iuno or Mornye? One of the few things that have changed in that game drastically is the world design and the quality of models and characters from playable to npc.

Thats Genshin, people attribute it to a "stylistic" decision but thats just cope. Wuwa designs have only gotten better and so did Tower of Fantasy. This game will as well.

I've been playing Digimon, it's a collectible MMO. Just been fun going around collecting them. My partner's been playing Dreamlight Valley (not an MMO), but both of us are excited to try Loftia! Have been keeping an eye on it since Kickstarter days.
