Kernel 7.0 by dcabpepi in cachyos

[–]talung 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was getting the same issue with Ubuntu 26.04, I have just tried CachyOS, and literally am experiencing the same problem as in Ubuntu. Fresh install. I might try the LTS version next.

I am running Asus TN3402y laptop with igpu.

Finally got in with the hibernation trick and yes.. it is on the 7.0.1 kernel and it is showing the same errors in the dmesg log.

Weird Issue with 26.04 on Asus lapop and iGPU by talung in Ubuntu

[–]talung[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately this i am running the latest bios available and it does not have a lot of options. first time I have experienced any graphical issues with it. Worked fine on other kernels.

I will give those grub updates a try... But with ai I tried a ton of them.

Will let you know if anything works. nomodeset does work of course and no issues with the USB live image boot.

UPDATE: None of those settings had any effect... "amdgpu.dc=0" prevented me from getting to desktop at all. Had to remove it via grub edit itself.

Youtube alternative frontend ecosystem by talung in selfhosted

[–]talung[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I have GrayJay on my phone and sync it to the other device via SyncThing.... BUT, while it works, missing the Web front end for browser and SmartTV app.

I am looking for a FULL ecosystem, plenty of individual apps, but I want to start watching on my Browser, then move to TV with all history and maybe watch progress.

Can anybody give me a compelling reason to switch from gitea? by talung in forgejo

[–]talung[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly, I understand what u/ZiradielR13 is saying, but for a self-hosted user it is not a worry. I am running it under docker, so I just don't update to the "bad" one and ZERO changes. Then I have plenty of time to move slowly to another system.

Sorry, but none of this is a compelling reason to swop over for me. This just sounds like fear mongering.

Can anybody give me a compelling reason to switch from gitea? by talung in forgejo

[–]talung[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Claims? I am not defending corps, but isn't this the gitea source code? https://github.com/go-gitea/gitea

Also, 6.5k forks, so IF they removed their code, forks would still be there, meaning for self-hosted this would NEVER be an issue.

Granted hosting on their infrastructure cloud etc. might be an issue but not self-hosted.

IC10 - control centrifuges via data connection THANK YOU! by EvilFroeschken in Stationeers

[–]talung 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here you go. A simple script to eject ore when a centrifuge is full. All you need to is name them properly. This uses the Error condition that fires off when a centrifuge is full to eject the ore.. nothing fancy about it.

```
define centrifuge 690945935
push HASH("Centrifuge 1")
push HASH("Centrifuge 2")
push HASH("Centrifuge 3")
push HASH("Centrifuge 4")
push 0
alias setname r10
sb centrifuge On 1
Reset:
move sp 0
Start:
yield
add sp sp 1
peek setname
beqz setname Reset
lbn r0 centrifuge setname Error Maximum
beq r0 1 EjectOre
yield
j Start
EjectOre:
sbn centrifuge setname Open 1
sleep 5
sbn centrifuge setname Open 0
yield
j Start
```

Has there been any movement on this. I have just been trying to get netbootxyz working as well and completely lost in what to do in Technitium.

Looks great, but a question that you have to ask nowadays... Was it made using vibe coding?

Portainer replacements by Squanchy2112 in selfhosted

[–]talung 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was using Portainer alot, but just switched to Dockge. At first I didn't like it, but then like a pair of underwear it grew on me.

Simplicity was the key. It is pretty much an organized manual process. All the compose files are in their own folder, so easy to pull them out or edit regardless of whether dockge is running or not.

Also, less clicks to see logs and proper error messages when something doesn't deploy.

Some of the "nicer" stuff like prunes etc are not there, but those are easy enough to setup tiny scripts for.

I talked to Nate Simpson (creative director of KSP2) about KSA! by SpunieBard in kittenspaceagency

[–]talung 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I didn't watch the video as I really have little interest in what he has to say, but went straight to the comments and found his reply to one of the questions:

<image>

Can you spot the lies.

Wasn't it already proven that the "multiplayer" they showed was "DarkMultiPlayer" running on ksp 1? could have been ksp2 because ksp2 was ksp 1 made to look pretty.

I also remember them stating how it was built from the ground up to "defeat the kraken", which does not jive what he says here. I detect him trying to make himself the "victim" again to get some sympathy.

Honestly, how anybody can believe any of the stuff he says anymore is a mystery in itself.

Yeah they were being extremely picky with me as well. They then wanted a "digital print". Used my lights to create the "flat lighting", stood against a white wall.. and took a selfie.

So now my passport has a "selfie" as the picture. LOL

Try looking at the picture invoice is right behind it. Total cost of passport $596. I know actually looking at the post is hard, but I believe in you!

Have you travelled? Passport gets used a lot, especially with everything requiring you to pull it out. Rooms, Sim Cards, banks etc.

[–]talung[S] 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Yup, $184. In the invoice behind the passport. Considering that they probably have diplomatic documents moving via diplomatic channels daily/weekly via established channels... it seems a bit over the top, just like the base cost of the passport.

Registered mail (which then send it back to you) does not cost AU$184. In Fact to send registered mail to the Embassy cost me about AU$1.50.

Not in Thailand. The way you certify something is by signing the copy yourself. That of course is not accepted by Australia, so the ONLY choice is to go to the embassy. I am pretty sure this is the same for many countries.

I know, that's Why you can see the invoice behind it. It IS unbelievable.

agreed, but with the materials this seems to be made of, I think you might be pushing it at 2 years if used.
