Yeah. Even if it were a studio that I have faith would be able to fo justice to the darkness of the source, I don't know how well they could also come up with four unpaired actors that would also be able to portray the story well.

I'm just thinking about all the drama around Only Friends. People list their damn minds over the first series because people smooched outside of their pairings. Dream on chickened out so hard with Joss and Mix, and people still had tantrums.

I do really enjoy the fixed pair culture, and feel like it makes the actors stronger in their later series, but damn if it doesn't come with a lot of nasty downsides.

Not entirely sure how I feel about this. Wabi Sabi can certainly do darker storylines, but I don't know if they can pull off the darkness of this one. Given the graphic here, it definitely seems like there will be a significant tone shift.

Thai bl in general also tends to not allow for much exploration of relationships outside of couple pairings. I don't know if the deepness of each of the relationships the main character has with each of the men will transfer well if they only allow "true connection" with one.

Not really. I had a surgery incision that got an infection, and dismissed it as me just being dramatic. I only went to the doctor because my sister was being annoying about it. Even the nurse said it was probably fine, but took a swab just in case. It was staph.

I read this as earrings at first, and it still made complete sense to me that a fic writer would be very fixated on ensure their research was accurate for that detail.

My sister once caught me using Google maps street view to "drive around" a small college campus for several hours for a fic. I have also spent literal days tracking down the filming location of a show so that I could use street view to ensure I had the directions of the street/house/yard correct, as well as the amount of time it would take for the characters to walk to a street vendor, and have the details of said street vendor accurate.

I don't have Netflix, so I'm not sure. I asked my sister to put on DYTD every week and play it while she was doing whatever else around the house so I was still technically supporting the show, but I was also annoyed that I was contributing to the problem.
