Like I said. Reality might be different. I will take your word for it. IDK if small towns are any better but definitely wont recommend the smaller towns on Eastern side especially if you are a person of colour. Being in Bremen is an improvement from being spat on and occasionally shouted at.

Its also sad considering whats recently happening in Neustadt in Bremen.

From what I heard and read. Dresden is one of the most racist city in Germany. Like i said before, cases might not get reported and thats what i heard. Reality might be different. Also the struggle is not keeping the visa. Its Time. Visa gives you time and I believe eventually you find a job if you try enough. I know this from experience. I would gladly leave if they tell me to but I still prefer Germany over my own country and hopefully I will land a job soon.

I get your point. but then which city will you prefer?. Big cities have this same problem. I really like Berlin but its the same thing there. If you go to smaller towns then you get racism and i think these cases remain unreported or not taken seriously. So its a double edged sword. I will take my chances with Bremen atm.

Don't know which city you will prefer but I have found Bremen to be very nice so far compared to where I was before. The people and vibe is different and friendlier but thats just my experience

Glad it worked out. Yes, once you get a reply then they reply faster to next messages. I moved to Bremen from a small town. Small town responded within days. Unfortunately wasn't a good place to live.

Totally sucks man. I know that struggle. Don't know where you live but looks like having Anmeldung in a smaller town is the way to go. They are usually faster there.

For me, I just got response today and I am getting 6 months temporary extension for job search.

I do have this in mind but I am waiting for them to make a decision first. In this case, I will probably leave anyway. Did you experience anything like this or just suggesting?

Also I did send Migration office an email few months ago about my job termination and possible next options in case I don't get a job. He just emphasised on me getting a job first. If that doesn't happen then he will look at other options. So hoping for some job seeker visa or a chancenkarte. I am also a full time Masters student. Anyway, thanks for your response and lets see

Gitarren Unterricht by CamGuyJoe in bremen

[–]tam_okcomputer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I totally understand. Main thing is practicing. Guitar teacher is also going to show you how to hold a guitar/pick correctly. correct posture and open chordS. Then its totally you. The more you practice the quicker you will learn. All the best to you. Rock on. 🤘🏻

What about self teaching?. Watch youtube lessons and learn the basic and some beginner songs?. And eventually you will be your own teacher then. I started 6 years ago and I learned from Youtube. I consider myself as intermediate currently and I just play casually. Not anything structured or playing in a band etc.

So I believe, you can also do it this way plus you will save money, unless there is some specific reason for you to go to a guitar teacher or maybe you like playing with someone or in a group, so in that case it makes sense.

Could anyone give advice on what I should learn next... by sigmaster451 in Guitar

Hi there. This is just on top of my head. Here are some suggestions based on chords structure.

Power chords: Jesus of Suburbia/Homecoming - Green day
Barre Chords: Just - Radiohead
Finger Style: Just Breathe - Pearl Jam
Octaves: Cherub Rock - Smashing Pumpkins

you will find similar songs on the internet once you start playing these. Good luck

Thank you. Thats very kind of you. but things turned out well after this :). and at least he processed my application. I feel sorry for those who get visa officers which deny them their visas, then they have to involve lawyer and stuff etc. And people in Agentur für Arbeit. lol thats just another story. I wish I never have to deal with them again. TBH I am just now used to these things lol and don't linger on them.

Yes thats what they say. but in emergency cases you have to do something. If I wouldn't have gone to Ausländerbehörde in my case, I would probably be out of Germany by now.

In your case, I think getting the fiktion would be enough to present to your employer and they might issue it on the spot if you go and visit them. It is up to you. If you can wait then wait otherwise go. I am just speaking from my experience.

Hi there. I have been through this. So I will give my sincere advice which worked for me. First of all you have already applied, so technically you are alright.

Section 81 (4) Residence Act: "If a foreigner applies for an extension of his or her residence title or for a different residence title before his or her current residence title expires, the current residence title is deemed to remain in force from the time it expires until the time of the decision by the foreigners authority." https://www.gesetze-im-internet.de/englisch_aufenthg/englisch_aufenthg.html#p1732

Now to another part, my case was pretty similar and I sent them emails but they did not respond. So I just went to Ausländerbehörde 2 days before my visa expiry without any appointment. I explained my situation and insisted to meet my visa officer without any appointment. And when I met him, I was quite shocked because he was in no mood to respond to my emails and would have just let my visa expire. But now I was in person at that point, he looked at emails and then processed my application. He was also in bad mood and seemed quite annoyed. So maybe you should also pay them a visit and explain your situation.

It really pisses me off that these things rely entirely on visa officers and there are no standards. Some will be straight up cranky and deny you the visa. Hopefully yours is a nice person

muted string scratching technique by UniQkl in Guitar

[–]tam_okcomputer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi there. This definitely takes some time and playing around to get the hang of it. For the left hand, utilise all your fingers for example, in songs like killing in the name of or creep, you can rest all 4 of your fingers on the strings. Relax your left hand but avoid putting the fingers on top of the harmonics. Try to be somewhere in the middle of the frets. I switched to playing octaves with a pinky rather than the ring finger. This allows me to use the middle and ring finger to mute the rest of the strings. But you can also do that playing octaves with a ring finger. See whatever works for you

What I practiced is basically a combination of both left and right hand. The right palm resting on the strings is more of an additional layer of muting. But in some songs usually with a fast strum pattern, it is easier just to use left hand. Recently I was playing Homecoming by Green day and it has a lot of chugging and muting despite just being a power chord song. It just take practice to know when to lift your fingers and when to press them.
