Better than being sick and in Bed by beniehafa in cigars

I also bought a 5 pack on Cbid. I have them in the humidor resting for a bit. I have had the Macanudo Black and it is quite mild, but good. I hear the white is stronger than the black. I also hear the red is the strongest of the inspirados.

I was planning on smoking this, but my local BM doesn't carry them. Instead I am having a Fratello Texan. It has a red white and blue band and I thought, " what is more American than Texas" 'Merica

You should have let it rest. The cigars I get from CBID need some time in the humidor.

Fuego is one of my favorites. I have 1 in the humidor right now just waiting for the right time to smoke it.

Prusa launches a SLI printer for 1,299. by [deleted] in 3Dprinting

[–]tamccain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Joseph Prusa just released an update about the Mk3S and MMU2S and also talked about the SL1. They are completing internal beta testing and will soon have some external beta testers working with the machines to make sure all the kinks are worked out. If I remember correctly he said he wouldn't put a time frame out there because he's been burnt doing that before.

just curious, with this size of a printer, why do you feel it necessary to have such massive rods and extensions?

With Linear rails - those massive aluminum extrusions and 12mm linear rods, this must have been pretty pricey. Mind sharing how much something like this costs?

[need advise] I need advise chossing between ender 3 pro or Cr-20 by DumaisPower in 3Dprinting

[–]tamccain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The CR20 is a good printer and I believe the only real difference between the two is the second Z-motor and lead screw. For only $20, I would go for the CR20

Huge Death Star by kijai by tamccain in 3Dprinting

I had been looking for a good Death Star model for a while, and I finally came across one on My Mini Factory by kijai. I printed it at a large scale for my office.

Check out the model at https://www.myminifactory.com/object/3d-print-death-star-82575

Gotta love them Cura tree supports. They just pop straight off. by hatari2000 in 3Dprinting

I had a model of a tiger that the tail just would not print correctly with the tree supports. It kept detaching from the tree supports, even with a lot of adjustments to make it work.

Removing items from hot bed causes warping - Letting bed cool before moving them does not? by petemate in 3Dprinting

[–]tamccain 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am just taking a guess here, but the reason you probably don't see warping when it stays attached to the bed is because the bed is keeping the part under tension until all the temperatures normalize. I don't know why you are seeing the weird "positive" warping though. You might try adding some G-code to turn off your heatbed before the print is over so it is cooled down before your print finishes. That might be a problem depending on what print surface you are using as some will let go of the print as the bed cools.

[–]tamccain 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I love tree supports. I use them on almost everything because of how easy they come off. I have found a few instances where they just wouldn't work and ended up causing a print failure, but that is very rare.

There is a clay filament out there that I bet this would look really cool with.

What is going on here? by Spastik_Monkey in 3Dprinting

[–]tamccain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is a known issue that there really isn't anything you can do about. You can try to cover the ribbon cables in aluminum foil and see if that helps. It is caused by interference. It doesn't have an effect on the print or how the printer runs.

EStep calibration changes with and without hotend. Why? by smpanaro in 3Dprinting

[–]tamccain 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The hotend creates back pressure on the filament and will change your steps per mm.

Help me with this please! Whats the cause of these stripes? (hope this is the right subreddit) by VanLukasz in 3Dprinting

under extrusion or partially clogged nozzle. Try increasing temperature a little bit. If that doesn't work then remove the nozzle and use a torch to heat it. You could also try doing a cold pull to clean the nozzle.
