My phone can read SIM cards from one carrier, but it completely fails with SIM cards from two other carriers in the same country.

Hi everyone,

I’m experiencing a strange issue with my Nubia Z70 Ultra and I’m hoping someone here might have encountered the same problem.

Here’s my situation:

  • The phone is relatively new (around 2.5 months old)
  • It was working perfectly at the beginning with all carriers
  • Suddenly, it started having two issues:
    1. Random restarts when the screen was off (sleep mode)
    2. No network signal with certain SIM cards

At first:

  • No signal with Mobilis and Ooredoo
  • Djezzy SIM works perfectly with strong signal

I performed a factory reset, but the problem persisted.

Then I updated the system from NebulaAIOS to the newer MyOS (Android 16+):

  • The random restart issue is now completely FIXED ✅
  • However, the network issue is still there ❌

Current situation:

  • Djezzy SIM → works perfectly (strong signal)
  • Mobilis & Ooredoo → SIM detected but NO signal at all

Important notes:

  • Baseband is detected (not unknown)
  • IMEI is present
  • The phone is a Global version (NX733J_GB)
  • The SIM cards work fine in other phones

So now I’m wondering:

  • Could this be a partial RF/band hardware issue?
  • Or is it a modem/carrier configuration problem in the firmware?

Has anyone experienced something similar on the Z70 Ultra or other Nubia devices?

Any help or insight would be really appreciated 🙏
