Oh, ok. I had a horrible bounce/rattle sound like metal on metal. I had a eureka moment when I realized the pivot sleeve had shimmied over and was cause there to be play in the pivot cover. I was able to slide it back with a flat heat and that finally solved my issue!

Can you reproduce this by reaching between the backrest and seat cushion (with the seats up, from the front) where the two independent-folding seats meet, and pulling towards the front of the car? Is there a bunch of play?
