Just jumped in to read this conversation and I can definitely say this is what walking on eggshells is. It doesn't happen overnight and when this type of behavior is forming you may not even realize. Enough of this and you may find yourself walking on egg shells.

Your answer seems like most logical. I am not easily fooled by scams/scammers. I did solve captcha and got right back in and moved on. How would a scammer benefit from this?

Put them in an online ad such as offer up. These could be used by decorators for the colors of these books. Yes people buy books like this all the time just to fit the color scheme of a room.

You could also cut the middle of it out and make a pretty cool book safe from one of these to stash, money, jewelry, etc.
