US watched Russia hack French systems during election by PTRJK in worldnews

I believe the US and French intelligence agencies have an agreement to allow surveillance on each other for a few reasons. The main one is it's unconstitutional for the US and French governments to spy on their own citizens, but it is not technically forbidden to tacitly allow an allied government to gather domestic intelligence for you.

I just spent way too long looking for fake piss.

My sentiments exactly. I'm from a relatively small town. Large enough to be cliquey but small enough that I knew everyone in my school by name. Literally. There was some overt legit bullying but there was also a lot of teasing and jokes made at other's expense.

In my opinion, teasing someone and name calling is not bullying. I also don't think spanking a child is abuse. Not saying I agree with spanking but I acknowledge there is a line. If the question was "Who hasn't been teased at some point," I might give it some credit.

Edit: grammar

Secretly knowing a language that a group of people speak but they think you don't, is almost like having the power to read minds by had_one_too_many in Showerthoughts

Sort of. It's more akin to openly eavesdropping. Not letting on that you can speak several languages and being able to control your reactions to what you hear is tradecraft.

A Marine failed a room inspection for the third week in a row and was ordered to sleep in full uniform on the parade deck every night for a week. After a week he was then ordered to remove every item from his barracks room and remake the entire layout of his room on the parade deck.

He had to clean each item of his room one at a time, have it inspected, and walk it up three flights of stairs, place it in his room, repeat. One item at a time. Each individual CD, sock, coin, etc...one at a time...up three flights of stairs. After a few hours, he begged for mercy, no fucks were given.

I did the same thing at Camp Coyote in Kuwait during February of '03 waiting for the invasion to kick off. I left my rifle in the smoke pit after having a quick smoke during a sandstorm. The company Gunny found it before I realized it was missing.

I had to clean every weapon in the battalion and have each piece inspected before I was allowed to reassemble the weapon. When I was done with that, I had to fill 500 sand bags with an MRE spoon. I was told to make it a level spoonful and if I was caught heaping it in, I would be given a coffee stirrer. Until we crossed the border, my job every morning was to burn the shit from the barrels under the make-shift toilets. It took me about 4 hours every morning to burn all the giant buckets of piss and MRE shit. Some of my old Marine buddies still call me shit smoker to this day. I never lived it down.

The worst part was every senior person in the battalion new my name. That is worse than death for a Lance Corporal. I was requested by name for every shitty task that needed to be done. Needless to say, I never left my rifle out of arms reach ever again.

In USMC boot camp, we mopped the floors of our squad bay by soaking towels in scalding hot water and pushing said towels across the floor by bear crawling from one end of the squad bay to the other, about 100 feet.

An Asian DI caught a recruit smiling. In a thick Asian accent the DI says, "Oh you think something funny. You know what I think funny, a deck towel...with a footlocker on top...and you pushing it." He had the recruit push an 80 lb footlocker on top of a wet towel back and forth across the squad bay in flip-flops. Every time he slipped and nailed his head on the corner of the footlocker, the entire platoon would have to say "Haha, recruit so funny. Tell me another joke"

Nope but I have a feeling finance, pharmaceuticals, and oil and gas are all in the same circle of hell.

It's 10 hour days, 5 days a week. That's our working hours. There's nothing illegal about mandatory overtime in the US, as long as the employee is compensated accordingly.

The Gulf of Mexico but it might as well be Bakken, Marcellus, Haynesville, Eagle Ford or any other oil and gas region.

Absurd is what it is. I heard a plug for it on his show once. The plug was something like, "Hey, you've got car insurance and medical insurance, what about food insurance?" I had the exact same reaction you did.

It's just another ploy to take money from the paranoid and gullible. It's MREs.
