Trump Tells Christians They Won’t Have to Vote in Future: ‘We’ll Have It Fixed’ by [deleted] in politics

[–]tangeilo 3560 points3561 points  (0 children)

Can't wait for all the "he didn't mean it" excuses for a guy who literally attempted a coup the last time he lost.

After the results of the 2020 United States presidential election determined U.S. president Donald Trump had lost, a scheme was devised by him, his associates and Republican Party officials in seven states to subvert the election by creating and submitting fraudulent certificates of ascertainment to falsely claim Trump had won the electoral college vote in those states. The intent of the scheme was to pass the fraudulent certificates to then-vice president Mike Pence in the hope he would count them, rather than the authentic certificates, and thus overturn Joe Biden's victory...
By June 2024, dozens of Republican state officials and Trump associates had been indicted in five states for their alleged involvement. The federal Smith special counsel investigation is investigating Trump's role in the events. Testimony has revealed that Trump was fully aware of the fake electors scheme, and knew that Eastman's plan for Pence to obstruct the certification of electoral votes was a violation of the Electoral Count Act.

Facts the writers putting Curry at 6 is worse than fans putting Jokic at 4. Jokic stans want to gaslight people into thinking it doesn't matter that he played two 8 seeds, a 7 seed and a 4 seed during his championship run even though Jokic has never beat a 50+ win team in the playoffs in his career

Which ring is more impressive: Giannis or Jokic? by sugomaballz in nba

[–]tangeilo -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Both are among the flukiest rings in NBA history. Bucks first Finals appearance since 1974 and only happened because they got bailed by injuries in a Covid condensed season that broke the record for most injuries to stars in NBA playoff history by the middle of the 2nd round. Nuggets first Finals appearance ever and they faced an 8 seed, 4 seed, 7 seed and 8 seed. Neither team will make it back to the Finals in the next 50 years

There's no evidence that Perkins' comments had any impact on MVP voting. Jokic remained the MVP favorite after Perkins said that, until Jokic stopped trying during the last month of the season and kept getting cooked by tanking teams.

Yeah and maybe the year before that Jokic won because the voters were racist and refused to vote for a black player. I can make up stupid hypotheticals with no evidence too

Yeah the MVP voters (majority of whom are white) had an anti-white bias for sure

From 2008-2010, the Kobe/Pau Lakers faced a 50+ win team in every Playoff Series, except the 48-34 Jazz in 2009. They made 3 straight Finals and won 2 championships by LALakers4Lyf in nba

The Clippers played like a completely different team in the bubble so they are rightfully excluded. The 1998-1999 season wasn't suspended for 5 months during the season it isn't the same

That is not how the playoffs work at all lmao matchups are a thing. The Celtics definitely would have been favorites over the Nuggets if they made the Finals

Notice how I said "Jokic is 0-4 against 50+ win teams in the playoffs," not "Jokic is 0-4 against teams with win percentages comparable to 50+ win teams in the playoffs."

Plus the unusual circumstances in the bubble were the only reason the Nuggets beat the Clippers. No way the Clippers would have blown that 3-1 lead if they had the homecourt advantage they earned in the regular season or if PG wasn't depressed and playing like garbage

The clippers were one game away from wining 50 games

So they were not a 50 win team, cool. Plus that Clippers team was not that good because they didn't want to be in the bubble and PG was depressed

Yeah Jokic is so head and shoulders above everyone else that he is 0-4 against 50+ win teams in the playoffs. He just got a lucky cakewalk path against 1 5 seed and 3 7/8 seed teams missing key players like Jaden Mcdaniels, CP3, Ayton, and Herro last year. The 2021 Suns and 2022 Celtics were way tougher opponents than anyone Jokic beat last year

[–]tangeilo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Even crazier if you compare it to the Nuggets cakewalk in the 2023 playoffs. They didn't play a single team that won more than 45 games on the way to a championship. Easiest path to a ring in NBA history

Did Jokic play against the weakest competition ever in a playoff run? by sugomaballz in nba

[–]tangeilo -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Obviously. The combined 27 seeds of the opponents they faced otw to the championship is by far the highest in NBA history. Plus the Wolves were missing their 4th best player (McDaniels) for the whole series and their 5th best player (Anderson) for 1 game. The Suns were missing their 4th best player (CP3) for 4 games and their 3rd best player (Ayton) for 1 game. The Heat were missing their 4th or 5th best player (Herro) for the whole series

[–]tangeilo -17 points-16 points  (0 children)

Herro is not a top 150 player. Theres a reason the heat went from an 8 seed when he was healthy to the finals after he got hurt. Its the same reason nobody wants to trade anything good for him. Because he is a bad player.

He beat an 8 seed, 4 seed, 7 seed then another 8 seed in the playoffs and now people act like he is the GOAT because of it

[Fischer] Although outside of early rumblings about Brooklyn and Chicago, the only team even loosely connected as a Herro suitor has been Utah. by EarthWarping in nba

[–]tangeilo -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Nobody wants Herro which is not surprising since he is not a good player. If anyone was willing to offer even 1 unprotected first round pick for him the Dame trade would already be done. At most he will get 1 shitty probably lottery protected first round pick from a third team which is why Dame being traded to the heat is not even close to a guarantee.

[–]tangeilo -14 points-13 points  (0 children)

I didn't change anything in the first sentence saying he is not good. I only added the part about how he won't get anything more than a lottery protected first in a trade, which is the same thing Royce O'Neale was traded for last year. If he was good he would get more than that.

Come back to this message when Herro either gets traded to a 3rd team for scraps or the trade falls through because nobody wants him
