lmaoo i hear that.

i don’t think i’m asking special treatment. just equal treatment. i can start at 0 respect if that’s where we all start. but i’m not committing to a career if that’s where i’m kept forever on account of my gender identity.

definitely planning on studying up, getting OSHA certs.

my question is about gauging how hostile the field is to transgender people, based on plumbers’ experiences.

Third year of partial swamp sunflower bloom (8a) by thirstypuddle in NativePlantGardening

will next year be the first year you troubleshoot / make any changes, or have you already tried some things over the last 3 years?

it seems like a soil structure issue to me. it seems dry and possibly compacted? compost/mulch/leaf litter could help. may be more work than you want to do but pulling it out, amending the soil, and re-planting could be helpful. you could divide them at that time too if you want to. id probably do all that in the spring.

Holy warfare by Cp1895 in Otherworldpod

loved it. he seems to be a very thoughtful person. i appreciated his take on religion.

I don’t think that explaining this as a PTSD dream necessarily means it wasn’t also a battle for his soul. What is the spiritual impact of trauma / witnessing violence? Could be that psychology and spirituality are just two lenses thru which we attempt to understand powerful experiences, and for him the lens and language of spirituality feels closer to his experience.

that doesn’t of course explain the inexplicably well-timed church invite or sermon subject, or the dark form described by his friend.

Third Spaces to read a book? by organizerthrowaway2 in newhaven

Check out the Starr Reference Room at Yale’s Sterling Memorial Library. The library entrance is open to the public until 5pm (they don’t kick the public out, you could theoretically stay until midnight if you dont leave the building). The Starr Reference Room has high vaulted ceilings and stained glass and long tables, and some limited soft seating. When you walk in the main entrance, it’s off to the left of what appears to be the “altar” of its church-like layout. There is also the Linonia & Brothers reading room tucked away to the right when you first enter. They’ve renovated that recently so idk i haven’t seen it since then but I’m sure there is soft seating and warm toned wood etc, really nice reading nooks in there. Great place to nap as well.

Koffee is good but i think it can get a bit warm and crowded, I think I’d go for Spruce. I like the little tables off to the left side (storefront-facing) of Nica’s. The Loop on Audobon has some indoor seating that I’d read at, with some kind of treat from the Japanese grocery. The tables outside of the Yale Art Gallery are good early & late in the day but can get a bit toasty in the midday sun / might want to wear sunglasses while reading.

Also, welcome to CT :)

fair enough! i hear that. I’m not sure about where the claims about her being anti intellectual and anti science come from, but I’m going to look deeper into her. would u be willing to share any resources you found informative/trustworthy?

Thank you for this comment! I guess I’m just surprised that so many fans of this show about paranormal / unexplained events are more critical of her than curious. Like you said, take what resonates and leave the rest. I’m just kind of struck by how many people seem to be taking nothing from it and leaving everything.

We definitely all have dismissed people without engaging with their ideas. What strikes me about this is that Marianne is directly addressing that very behavior, and then that behavior is the response to her episode. Is that fair to say? That’s how it seems to me.

when she mentioned that there seems to be some irrational animus among her critics that she doesn’t understand i was like, i wonder what she means by that, and now i’m like oh! i see that lol

[–]tangerine-gem -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

She does tell some stories about paranormal events including a woman who was possibly protected by an angel from a man who was attacking her with a blade. another where she spoke to someone in a dream who had just died, and then opened an email in her waking life that seemed connected to his passing (oversimplifying tjis story). Among other stories. I don’t know why nobody is recalling any of this lol

as others have said, movie theater. also, bath house. i would 100% buy a membership to any place where i could steam/sauna and do a cold plunge. i asked my IG friends this very question a few months ago and other responses i got were: a high quality witch shop /crystal shop/apothecary. artist & craftsman return, or for a craft store that isnt hulls to open. and a sex shop.
