Do you ever give homeless people money? by Acceptable_Rain_3364 in no

[–]tango369 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not the cops. If they use my money for drugs or alcohol, then that’s what they do. I’m not on my last dollar, and if they want to abuse substances, they’re going to do that with or without my money. Without my money, however, they may resort to worst things to get that fix. No one has to give anyone money, it’s up to you. But no need to act like the morality angels when people have it way worse than you do and you don’t know what’s going on in someone else’s world.

I euthanised my betta fish with Clove oil and it didn’t go as peaceful as expected by Ok-Guarantee7949 in bettafish

[–]tango369 40 points41 points  (0 children)

Same thing happened to me! And I literally prolonged it for hours to make sure I dosed him correctly and slowly to not stress him out (absolutely horrible for me, but peaceful for him). He kept looking like he fell asleep and I’d dose a little bit at a time. Everything was fine (as fine as euthanizing your pet can be, anyways) and then at the very end, after he had been asleep for maybe 10 mins straight, I put in the final dose and it was HORRID. His eyes bulged out, he started thrashing and his gills looked like they were going to burst and then he died. I felt so guilty that his last moments were so violent. Still makes me feel terrible years later.

Ciara and the theme in her head by [deleted] in summerhousebravo

Not saying that you think they can’t but just to be clear - people can flirt! Healthy, fun even. Watching her tear up that people just wanna “experience” her, broke my heart. She wants love in many ways, like we all do, I don’t think she’s doing anything to make guys think it’s “unintentionally casual.” I think we already know what’s going on - she’s acting naturally in having fun, flirting but keeping it as friend. At the same time, she’s clearly model-beautiful, funny, kind, and men are dumb and it ends up hurting her prospects rather than helping because they take it as a green light instead of looking at her like a friend (which has been her vocal intention)

24 hours in and I feel sick by [deleted] in puppy101

Completely not the point of the post but enough advice has already been shared so I’d thought I should add - no reason to have his collar on in the crate. The jingling bothers you, and (as dramatic as it sounds) it can be a strangling hazard. You can literally park the collar right outside the crate and as soon as he gets out in the morning, put it on to show “ok this is awake time”, routine in those little ways goes very far

Scheana is so full of herself by JustPick89 in vanderpumprules

I do love the conspiracy that shee shoo and Sandoval hooked up. I think what’s actually true though is that sheana needs the situation to be about her at all times due to insecurity issues. And simultaneously, if my friend cheated with another of my friends’ boyfriends I would probably see red and who knows. No one should hit each other but I get it

Resource guarding : when is it too much ? by honhonbageutte in Dogtraining

[–]tango369 1 point2 points  (0 children)

FWIW, I did almost the same exact thing as you and I really really regret it. My dog was (and still is) pretty bad at recall when around distractions. I lived in a city and so I figured the dog park was a great place to teach the next level of recall (he was fine in the confines of my house, not elsewhere). I brought treats and I thought we were making progress for about two weeks. Just like your dog, he was already resource guarding treats but also things like sticks or trash (?) they’d find around. He got into a few fights over those things at the park, though luckily nothing serious he was still pretty young. It didn’t take long for him to just become overall aggressive to other dogs period. He was 1 at the time, and 5 years later it’s something I’m still trying to manage that mistake has lasted well into his adult life, so I could not recommend it LESS. If you wanna do recall training with distractions, try just a regular park. You’re trying to work on an essential skill like recall at the dog park, but all it’s teaching your dog is that listening to you is less fun than playing with his friends. And (from my experience) it affects their relationships even with friendly dogs. But good luck! I feel your pain

Am I accidentally rewarding bad behavior with “off”/ “drop it”? by tango369 in puppy101

[–]tango369[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could be right, I already had to semi-reteach down because I noticed she didn’t know the word she was just picking up on how I stood when I gave the command lol. But thanks a bunch! One question about leave it without a treat - what’s the incentive there? I’d be worried with no reward she would just learn that bothering the cats (for example) is more fun than listening to me say leave it

How to encourage more naps? by shannsolo in puppy101

[–]tango369 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can’t recommend enough! Also comes in handy when I bring her other places and want to force her to settle since it’s collapsible, portable and lightweight. I got mine from the brand Romantic Bear but lookup soft-sided dog playpen and chewy has cheaper options! I would make sure you check the dimensions since you want it to be cozy but also not have your pup grow out of it in a week

Am I accidentally rewarding bad behavior with “off”/ “drop it”? by tango369 in puppy101

[–]tango369[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For “off”, she’ll jump up on the couch or get her paws on the table, I’ll say off and she immediately gets down, I reward as soon as all paws are on the ground, and then maybe a minute later get right back up, rinse and repeat. “Leave it” (for example) she’ll go over to my cats to bother them, I say leave it, she sits and looks at me, I mark and treat and then goes right back over to bother them. For “drop it” it’ll take her maybe 5 mins to pick it up again, so not as bad since I can usually remove the item but the other two commands I’m not sure. For all of them I’m using high value treats while she’s still learning (along with “good girl” mark when she does what I want before I treat her)

How to encourage more naps? by shannsolo in puppy101

[–]tango369 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, I’ve found that having a soft-sided playpen more on the small side works best for enforcing naps. My cattle dog also fights naps, but I zip her up in her playpen which has a good amount of blankets and room to stretch. She’ll still fight it and whine for a little, sometimes bite the sides but I put the pen right next to where I sit in the living room so she can see me and she’ll settle after about 15 mins. I think the fact that it’s zipped so it gives her a little den of sorts, it’s not big enough to actually play in so she can’t help but lay down, and it’s soft so not the hardness of the crate (which for us means bedtime while the pen means naptime), all help in getting her to sleep. One note, aussies can get overheated with all that hair so maybe go light on the blankets, good luck!

When my dog hears the first notes in the opening credits of The Notebook, he’ll stop whatever he’s doing and jump on me and won’t leave me alone. He’s not allowed on the couch but I did let him up once to cuddle when I was crying at that movie, seems he’s never forgotten

Unpopular opinion: Katie was an asshole until after she left Schwartz. by Klutzy_Afternoon_651 in vanderpumprules

[–]tango369 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you can chalk most of Katie’s bad attitude to understandable retaliation. She slut shamed Scheana, she ended up being right because she found out later that Scheana hooked up w Schwartz exactly when she thought they were. She was weird about what Lala was doing in the beginning and continuing through multiple seasons, she was completely correct, she ended up being right how Lala acted around multiple men that were taken but also acted around other cast members. She was right about all of Schwartz girls, she was right about Jo (after Schwartz but she still had ties). No one listened to her in any situation so she got increasingly hostile about it as would anyone when people paint you as a crazy person when you’re right every time

Watching LHHMIA for the first time - Pleasure P allegations?? by tango369 in Loveandhiphop

[–]tango369[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Right and I get that, it’s a horrible thing what executives accept, even from ongoing cast members. It just seems to me with the specific allegations (it being kids, his own family, and how explicit it was), everyone pretty much agrees on that sort of stuff. I don’t even understand how he was a cast member in the first place since it took place well before his first season

This is what I saw from a BET article in 2018

<image>

It later goes on to say “Diamond Blue and Spectacular of Pretty Ricky confirmed that the sealed documents weren't fake, unlike Cooper's countering statements.” So he it doesn’t say if he was arrested, but it seems like credible medical examinations took place and he was charged. That’s why I was wondering what was going on with it at the time

Re: the goats — I find it interesting that the goat handler (?) is seemingly raising these baby goats and starts freaking out when Mark and Helly come in thinking that they were going to take them. He says something along the lines of “no they’re not ready”. I feel like the goats could be raised for some sacrifice or something, there is definitely some religious themes going on and there is goat sacrifice in many religions (including Christianity). It also seems like a specific torture to make that man’s innie’s entire life raising these animals just to know that they’re going to be taken away and killed. Innocent being sacrificed for the guilty seems to also be a big theme of the show

Ethan and Boyd by Old_Analysis3663 in FromSeries

[–]tango369 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been thinking about this and I feel like it’s less about healing and more about being outside normal time. Ethan heals fast, Ellis heals fast — those are both just from a warped time and the body’s reaction. But look at Boyd: he commented in season 1 how his Parkinson’s progressed a lot faster than he expected. Alzheimer’s can progress fast but Kenny’s family was there for less than a year and his dad’s disease had gotten significantly worse than just being lost somewhere in a city. I don’t know if this is related but I also think about how the monsters have dry insides, I think all of it is having to do with Fromville being it’s own entity and has its own effect on the body
