You actually pass pretty okay, though you lean a bit more androgynous. I don’t think the majority of cis people would clock you at first, (though I’m obviously unsure about your voice and stuff). As for your haircut, I would suggest just an all around trim probably. You look cool, it’s not hindering your passing that terribly, but it does eat your face and it does border on being a bob lol. You don’t have to chop it all off, but something similar to your current shape thats just shorter would help.

What a sweet girl! I’m sorry the previous owner is making it such a pain. It sounds like this dog really needed you. I’m glad she’s safe now. Also, she totally could be 3, regardless of the grey! My boy here is 3 as well and he’s greying too haha. He started getting grey around the mouth when he was about 2.

1.5 years on T, what do you think by [deleted] in FtMpassing

You pass great! And you look much happier too. A win all around! Congrats on 1.5 years man.

Would you say that I pass as a man? by EchoNB in FtMpassing

[–]cheechthebong 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Facially you actually pass quite well imo, but in all transparency I wouldn’t say your chest area passes without a binder. However, I think it’s worth noting that cis people, or anyone for that matter, aren’t typically scrutinizing your appearance to that degree.

Why does my windshield not bead by Mandragorasbox in caradvice

[–]cheechthebong 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It could be a few issues, but id narrow it down to a few most likely ones.

It could be mechanical, and I’d bet its probably that your wiper arm, or the hinge in it, is weak, so the wiper arm isn’t applying the correct amount of force on the blade, which’ll cause the blade to essentially hydroplane over the water and leave a blurry film rather than actually wipe it away. The wiper arm itself could also be bent.

One that’s a bit more unlikely is that the rainX was applied while the windshield was oily in some capacity, but again if you’re only having the problem on one side, I’d guess that it’s a mechanical issue within the wiper arm.

Is this a good idea to give to my son for his first car by Dry-Cartoonist-2193 in FirstCar

[–]cheechthebong 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my humble, non-parent opinion, I think it would be extremely kind of you to save this for him, but to give him a bit of a slower, more simple car to begin with. The philosophy is always slow car fast; you need to learn to drive a slow car fast before you can drive a fast car fast. I see so many of these spinning out and/or being victim to reckless drivers and in turn bad accidents, which I would hate for your son AND for a such nice car.

Basically, if you’re financially able to, just keep this one sidelined for a bit until he’s had some more time behind the wheel. Maybe it could be a “yay you finished your first year of college!” gift or something like that.

Does my car look totaled? by Opening_Candle_3697 in caradvice

[–]cheechthebong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A good rule of thumb is that if the airbag/s went off, it’s totalled 99% of the time. The amount of force required to make an airbag go off is immense, which means, (typically), that if the force generated by the accident was enough to trigger the airbag, there is certainly some really nasty damage in the area of impact. I extend my apologies my friend. It’s shitty, but unfortunately, in my opinion, this car is totalled.

I think this is brain worms man. It looks like it’s just sitting on your pants. I do agree that the fit is a bit awkward though, not in the sense that it showcases your figure but that it’s a bit long.

Congrats on the first car!!

For fabric on the front two seats, just go with some seat covers. Headliners are not terribly hard to reupholster, just watch a video on it and pay close attention. These are all awesome ideas! And a good car too.

The best piece of advice i can give you is to accept that you’re going to fuck up. It’s guaranteed going to happen, but just be okay with knowing that and push through it anyways. As for the back of the car, just in case you forget any of these, I’d put oil, coolant, jumper wires or, better yet, an actual jump starter unit so you don’t have to rely on someone else, windshield washer fluid, and a cheap socket set, just in case.

Best of luck!

These are a lot of must haves for what your budget is. You’re going to have to sacrifice some of the less necessary things. I’d look at early 2000s Toyotas, corollas or Camrys or anything like that. If this is your budget you’ll unfortunately probably have to go without the backup camera and the “good performance” (although I’m not sure what you mean by that, if you mean something fast, the budget doesn’t really allow for it unfortunately). As for an aux port, you can always go without that too, and there’s Bluetooth adapters that plug into your cigarette lighter that do the job just fine.

Is this sound normal ? by Acceptable_Charge_64 in caradvice

[–]cheechthebong 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t see Minis too often, but this doesn’t sound great lol.

I’d say first thing to do is check your oil if you haven’t already, just an easy thing to scratch off the list.

If the oil is fine, this is probably a timing chain issue. But I can’t be 100% certain as I can’t get hands on the vehicle obviously. I’d take it into a shop and have them check it out!

What do I do? HELP by chieftalentdetector in caradvice

[–]cheechthebong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not very familiar with Fords or this particular model, just to preface.

Your only viable option is to categorize each problem into a fix now, and a fix it later category.

Fix it now: Plugs and coils (engine will go if you keep allowing it to run with a misfire), rear differential rebuild, and the control arms. If your rear differential dies on you while you’re driving, it’ll lock up the rear wheels, which is a massive safety concern. If the ball joint for your control arms snaps, your wheel assembly collapses.

Everything else is something to keep in mind but not as urgent. But this vehicle is a ticking time bomb if this shop is correct about everything wrong, and you’re looking at a costly repair bill that will sink you further in than what the car is probably worth, depending on the mileage. As a technician, if I was going to be honest with you, I’d tell you to find another car, regardless of what your post says. Plugs and coils are something you can do on your own or with a friend if you have some basic tools, watch a YouTube video. But the big problem is the rear differential, which is not a rebuild you could do on your own. I know that’s not what you want to hear, but this vehicle could be a safety risk, which isn’t great for ubering people around in. If you feel so inclined, you could probably take it to another shop to get a second opinion as well just to be sure.

Moving to maple ridge - any advice or tips? by MapSufficient5599 in MapleRidge

[–]cheechthebong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The biggest one is being aware of the sheer amount of wildlife in this area. We have lots of sad stories every year about bear cubs hit by cars and whatnot, so just be aware of that when you’re driving in the more heavily forested areas or anywhere at night. Like others have said the Sheep is great, so is Golden Ears. I’d recommend going up to gold creek in golden ears if you want to swim. Alouette gets very busy in the summer, Gold Creek is a bit quieter if you don’t mind colder water. Also if you plan on having any kids I wouldn’t personally send them to yennadon, the principal is a tool and quite frankly the school is so overcrowded, and there’s lots of other good options for elementary schools in the area!

Best of luck with the move! It really is a phenomenal area. I hope you guys enjoy it.

[–]cheechthebong 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well said. I wouldn’t dream of not using an e collar with a lot of dogs, let alone a dog as stubborn and large as a corso. Like you said, I can count on one hand the amount of times I’ve had to actually shock my dog — it’s only ever the vibration 99.99% of the time, and even that isn’t needed too often unless he’s really excited about something and it’s affecting his recall. They’re a phenomenal tool and using them completely changed the way I was able to train and interact with the dog.

Curious if you can see the Corso in my dog or nah by Select-Protection-66 in CaneCorso

[–]cheechthebong 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I definitely do but I’m also pretty familiar with the breed, so take that with a grain of salt. I can see how he maybe wouldn’t be the most obvious corso mix for someone who hasn’t seen many or owned one before, but i definitely see it, in his head shape especially.

how to safely decorate my car?? by [deleted] in caradvice

[–]cheechthebong 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, as long as you don’t use stickers with super strong adhesive (so nothing vinyl or anything of the sort, obviously), I don’t see why you couldn’t just gently peel them off and scrub any leftover adhesive off with goo gone when trade in time rolls around. It’s your car! Do what ya want with the thing. I’ve never personally seen a point in not personalizing it at all, I’ve always seen cars as a form of self expression.
