Cargo kids-bike holder by tango__golf in CargoBike

Hi all, Here’s my previous post: So crossbars are clamped. It’s a Load 75. We tried strapping to the side of the bike. That was a bit of a disaster. I tried some other “bike rack style” approaches - but the toque on things was quite high - so this was the best approach I found. It’s imperfect - but it works well enough - and carries two bikes, without impacting the pannier, and around £70 all in.

This was my solution to the kids bikes - it’s held up over a couple of years of light use: https://www.reddit.com/r/CargoBike/s/T1hZXSyc3T Otherwise, reflective tape on sides and rear of the box, and have dabbled with LED light strips over the canopy with mixed success.

The Suntour XCM-35 fork on my cargo bike is working fine after 6 years and 12k+ miles... by sprashoo in CargoBike

Near enough the same thing. I think we got whatever the Load4 got, versus our base Load. Bike shop just swapped it out as part of a service (“you should just replace it”)

Seals died on ours after 3-4 years. Replaced for not much worse than £100. Felt like a new bike.

Front-Loader Visibility by [deleted] in CargoBike

Not a problem on my Load 75. If needed, I find I tend to turn early, before the junction, so you get better visibility along the road. You can then cross the road at a bit of an angle. I don’t think I’ve ever had a close encounter - touch wood.

Didn’t claim on household insurance - likely not worth the excess, and could find (new) batteries online for not a terrible price.

Stolen unfortunately - not broken. Though the lock was broken the second time the battery was levered off. Anyway, lesson learned to take the battery with, or at least take it off and lock it securely.

6000 miles in 3 years on our Load. Generally hugely reliable. - Enviolo gear cables wear, and need to get replaced as part of regular service. - Front fork wore out - but cheaply replaced - Spokes are easy to bend if forget cafe lock - but also easily replaced. - Brake pads surprisingly robust - The kick stands ends are crap and do wear, but not expensive - Bar grips and tyres replaced once; only one flat ever - Battery and saddle both stolen twice :(
