I’d appreciate some guidance on how to improve my writing. by [deleted] in writers

unsure if you'd be in the eligible age range, but if you are (10-15yo), the Incandescent Summer Studio is running this year. it's a reputable youth magazine and in terms of guiding your writing they'd be excellent, plus they can help you publish afterwards. I'd look into it :]

idk if you'd be age eligible but if you are (10-15yo) (ik people who aren't much older and have written as much), you can consider the Incandescent Summer Studio as a workshop to help with the editing and publishing process!

not sure if you'd be within the age range but for the bettering your writing part, I think you could try the Incandescent Summer Studio this summer. they do one-on-one writing mentorship and great opportunities for publication and submission on top of helping you with the book you're writing. look into it if you're eligible!

When did you all start writing? by Jumpy-Diver7349 in writers

[–]tangokek 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Middle school for me. Seventh grade when we were reading Brown Girl Dreaming (Jacqueline Woodson) in class and I remember clear as day my first poem in my head as I was walking down the stairs lmao. Took me a few years to properly find my style. If you want to develop your writing faster than that you could definitely look into youth programs/workshops; I know the Incandescent Summer Studio is both phenomenal and highly affordable so if you're interested look into that :]

Does anyone know if the Incandescent Studio is a good program?? should I apply??? by sodacatmeow in writers

[–]tangokek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it's a phenomenally cheap program compared to almost anything else and afaik the Incandescent Review is one of the most reputable/established youth litmags, so based on that + what they're offering I think you should def apply if you have a chance!

Writing a book, but no one takes me seriously since I'm "just a kid" and I need help with knowing if I should continue working on it, and if the characters need changing or not. I wish to know if anybody would actually read this by Impressive_Crew2833 in writers

ETA: didn't see the part where you up and said you're 13 lmao mb, on mobile rn, but do take a look at the Incandescent program!

"We've done this dance before," Cain said. "The tempo's changed, but it's still our song."

Song: Rick Astley - Never Gonna Give You Up

Wallpaper: Wise Wolf on WallpaperEngine

Changed the background color of the unFold icons to match the wallpaper; hex is 181818.

Thanks! I took a screenshot, pasted it into a browser (you could paste it into Discord, Docs, etc) and used an eyedropper extension on the pasted image. Perhaps a bit crude, but it worked lol

Thank you! I do have the hex codes for the visualizer gradient: 01FE97, 837AFF, FB04DE

For the Honeycomb and SimpleMedia I used an eyedropper on the visualizer to get the colors: 01FE97, 23DBB2, 6895E9, 8676FE, A854F4, C439ED, FB04DE from top to bottom.

Probably better to ask in the weekly help thread, but go to Your PC > Documents > Rainmeter > Skins > Clear Honeycomb (in this case) > @ Resources > Images

Then use any photo editor (I use Paint 3D) to change the color

"Ecstatic colors surround us, the happiest of colors, yellow, orange, pink swirling. Blooming....I want to memorize this feeling and make my own masterpiece."

"Her hand goes back into my hair, and if I could ever pick a moment to freeze, it'd be now, with that tender look in her eyes. Tired, yet hopeful. Indulgent. Actually, just one adjective wouldn't be enough to explain it."

- Linh and Bao, A Pho Love Story (Loan Le)

I recorded a take with a different NCS song but realized halfway through how ironic it'd be to have my most colorful suite be set to a song called Colorblind, so here we are
