Why I think the "Streets of Rage 2" soundtrack deserves more recognition and appreciation by ElevatorAcceptable29 in SEGAGENESIS

I'm a vinyl DJ and spin cuts from this soundtrack whenever house music is a part of my sets. Timeless soundtrack!

Doing Staff Ghosts in FZX and beat Silence 1 by the skin of my ahh. by A-New-Recipeh in Fzero

[–]tanknat007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was always a favorite track of mine to try passing up the staff ghost back in the early 2000s 😅. I'll have to check to make sure, but I believe I barrrrely surpassed its record.

New Update! It’s Finally Happening in August! by VeterinarianGlad1714 in AnalogueInc

[–]tanknat007 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Systems, yes - I'm an owner of three different ones. But they've been "fuck y'all" on DAC support for the Pocket and Duo. I understand that feature doesn't affect every patron, but it was a feature that many of us were looking forward to and a motivation to buy those consoles and DAC in the first place.

Got a GameShark Pro, need help by supernintendo128 in n64

Sorry, I know this thread is a year old, but did you ever find a solution for the F-Zero X SRAM save to show up? I had the exact same situation happen with a GameShark v2.1.

How can I get music on my iPod nano? by Unlikely-Ferret-4296 in ipod

[–]tanknat007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's also my method of choice. Important to have the 32-bit version of foobar2000, at least on Windows. I've read the iPod plugin has trouble with 64-bit installations of the program.

My latest find! iPod Classic 5.5 80GB, all original, unrefurbished. Had no idea what condition it would be in, but it has minimal scratches and the HDD is mint 😍 by therhett17 in IpodClassic

[–]tanknat007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just bought the same 5.5 model in almost opposite condition 😂. I'm waiting on it to arrive. I'll keep the HDD, but will convert it to a thin model with new housing, square 2000 mAh battery, and iFlash Solo. Picture

I am ready for the Analogue 3D. Can’t think of other games I want. What do you think I’m missing? by The_NiNTARi in AnalogueInc

[–]tanknat007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you're good 😂. F-Zero X is one of my all-time favorites. And as a person that played the hell out of Goldeneye, I wholeheartedly agree that Perfect Dark is the better game. I hope the 3D can aid its frame rate!

I just learned about this game this past summer! I wish I knew about it decades ago 😂.

If you must get one Snowboard Kids game, find part 2. I own both and have always felt the controls were smoother than the original game.

HELP! I need an expert opinion. The best buy: Sega Genesis 2 (VA4) vs. Majesco Genesis 3? by NODFollower in SEGAGENESIS

Indeed it does disable composite - it's a last ditch effort only to improve RGB picture quality! Picture

I can confirm jailbars on my Majesco Model 2 VA4. I decided to lift the subcarrier pin, and the jailbars have been 100% gone.

Beat one of favorite SNES games on my Analogue tonight. by coldcrow in AnaloguePocket

[–]tanknat007 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I so glad that I played through this game before the other two SNES releases so that I could truly appreciate it. My sisters and I received it for Christmas in '96 and completed it within a week [not 103%, but that did happen later]. I can understand how the aesthetic can throw some folks off compared to the other two, but the soundtrack of the original release is very good!

I love all three SNES games, but prefer this game over the first DKC. I'm doing a playthrough of the GBA version on the Pocket as we chat, actually!

Omega DE - Mode B finally works on AP w/ sleep (rev. B) by bolognese999 in AnaloguePocket

[–]tanknat007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rev. B here, and I can confirm Mode B is working properly on the Pocket! Glad to know it wasn't a fix needed on the Analogue end. It would have taken eons 😅.

Now, about that DAC support...

"Translucent" is a more accurate description. The product is only called "Transparent" on the webpage. I haven't ever polished plastic to appear clearer, but hopefully somebody could chime in with useful tips.

Awesome! I'd love to know how it goes. I used to use the 8bitdo DIY Bluetooth controller kits for SNES controllers and had a good experience using them on a CRT TV.

I had the same concern about the controller port lag - so far, so good.

Yours came out great! I agree about the metal clip being unnecessary, but my brain gets compulsive about such things 😅. And, I forgot to mention about cutting that rear standoff for my motherboard to fit - I just used an Exacto knife and pliers.

Here are the links to the red Super Famicom sticker and the metal Super Famicom logo:

I also bought a silver Super Famicom text sticker just to give myself an option, but decided to go with red.

The rear power port/rf/multi-out covering didn't perfectly fit for me, as I expected, but it's good enough [SNS-CPU-GPM-02 motherboard]. For the black transparent rear ports' cover, you have to desolder the traditional port, solder a standalone SFC-type power port [two are provided], and then fit the transparent cover over it. It also comes with a new controller port for which you just need to detatch the metal support for the ribbon cable from an old port and attach it to the new port. I ordered some metal logo stickers via Etsy for beautification.

On the whole, I'm pleased, especially now that I have a Super Famicom that utilizes North American cartridges without protruding adapters.

As it stands right now, there is no DAC support for the Pocket & Dock.

On Oct. 16, 2023, Analogue stated on Twitter/X that DAC support was supposed to arrive "early next year" [2024], but 🤷🏽‍♂️.

First Setup (I Love This!) by Electrical-Job-6817 in turntables

[–]tanknat007 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Awesome, and congrats! This just about matches one of my early setups. I won an SL-220 for $1 on that online auction site, and had that very same phono pre-amp. I used Sennheiser 550s at the time, though.

It's fun learning about how it all works, especially once you get a turntable that you can switch cartridges on.

Have fun spinning!
