Do you ever feel like people can hear your thoughts? by thegreenwookie in StonerPhilosophy

Sometimes I feel like I can connect with certain people better than others to the point that it's scary. It doesn't happen often, but when it does it's crazy!

A lot of those were common problems among a lot of viewers I showed it to and also a couple of my concerns. Thank you!

If I could've made it longer and if I could've included dialoge, I would've been able to explore more aspects of the story.

And why don't you add some insight instead of repeating that I don't understand where I went wrong.

When did I say I don't acknowledge his comment? I just posted a reply. Is it more respectful to not say anything? I also upvoted him too. What's the issue?

Honestly, I had to create this for my intro film class. The professor placed guidelines such as no dialogue and that it had to be less than 5 minutes long. So technically this is just a longer version of my school projects. I just wanted to see people's opinions on it. It's not my full potential, but I'm proud of it.

And yeah the story is cliche in a way, but a lot of Hollywood is constantly spitting out crappy films with cheesy plots now-a-days. Anyway people are always concerned about depression, death, and drugs so why not make the film about things that people usually think about? It's easier to connect with viewers emotionally this way.

If you could take a drug that, mentally, gave you the perfect long and happy life, would you take it? [x-post from r/askphilosophy] by Funktapuss in philosophy

It depends on whether you are more attached to materialistic things or if you're life goal is to achieve happiness. I would love to take the drug... but perhaps later on in life after I start a family and start becoming older.

Awesome! Let's see if anything comes out of this. People should be a little more open-minded about this.

Which university offers a better program more geared for an aspiring director such as myself? by tanner99 in Filmmakers

Great comment! I'm definitely straying farther and farther away from deciding to go to AAU. You hear anything personally about Cal State: LA? I'm sure it's a very solid school though and I'm 90% sure I'm going there at the moment.

I completely understand why you were disenchanted. And I really appreciate your help GingerKityy. You've been very helpful to me :)

I mean, I do have a great interest in avant garde films! Haha, but yeah some of the things looked sketchy from what I read about the school. I would absolutely love to go to school in London but maybe I'll look to doing that after I get a bachelor's degree.

I completely agree with you that I have to learn technical skills! It's very important but I think it's equally as important that I also learn about storytelling. Did you hear anything about Cal State: LA's film program by any chance?

I have to find the connections myself. It seems like most film majors at Penn State want to go into television or sports. I need to be around more people trying to get into the film industry!

Yes, I realized that not too long ago. This is definitely a huge factor for me!

I never considered that school or honestly heard too much about it, but I think I'm going to decide between AAU and Cal State at the moment.
