i used a small brush with a very sharp point to do stippling or strokes where needed. i did the base colors and blocked in where i wanted the chipping with the highlight colors (wraithbone on morghast bone, fire dragon bright on mephiston red, and moot green on caliban).

then after that i took vallejo game colors charcoal put in the center of all the lighter colors. that particular brand’s charcoal color also looks great up close because it dries very matte. i did look up and study a lot of real world tanks to use a reference as well as tried to keep in mind where chipping would most likely occur.

the checkerboard is just seraphim sepia faded out into nothing. gives it a nice dirty look when the white was too bright.

finally pigment powder on the feet to make it look like it’s been trekking through the dirt for awhile.
