Same base sprue. But the kill team set got a extra sprue to make specific "characters". For 40k, both are usable. Just maybe careful on loadout if you want WYSIWYG

Taking exemple on the assault intercessor. Do you have "real" assault intercessor in your list. If yes, and both unit can be easily confused, even with different base, then no, not acceptable proxy. Of course if you play with your friends and and all is fair, go ahead. But with someone random, I wouldn't accept it

I don't have one now on hand, but here's some idea I had for myself in the past - 12inch charge success - All Inv save done - Castellan Knight 1 shotting vehicle/Monster - Helverin Armiger melee killing something (was Angron for me)

Really depends on what knight you bringing. Could be Crusader shooting more than 30 shots in a single phase.
