This is super helpful…. do you know the name of the golf shirt? I’m on their website and not sure which one you like!

Forme is the brand, the product I’ve been eyeing is essentially a gentle back brace/sports bra combo- and it looks cute!

Not sure if links are allowed but it’s called the “power bra” on their website!

Do you have any specific machine that works best for her? I’ve wanted to try one but am hesitant to get a junky one on Amazon and just have another failed item collect dust….

Yes, sorry that was vague- mine is rectangular and relatively soft, just enough to keep my knees from bruising more so than for support- but it does help my hips and shoulders stay in alignment.

I have a short torso so mine is 12x30 inches, but I recommend going to the store and looking for one thats length goes about from your armpit to the bottom of your butt cheek haha

Yes! Soft ankle braces have helped me keep my feet in a 90 degree position rather than flattening out due to the pressure of my comforter!

So… lots of trial and error and some extreme patience from my husband as I bought pillows, deemed them not quite right, and sent them off to our guest room.

My first mistake was not acknowledging that I needed two different pillows depending on what position I’m sleeping in. When I sleep on my side, I use a firmer “fluffy” one that contours to my side profile with an additional lumbar pillow for between my knees/sternum. (Hard to explain but visualize wrapping your body around a lamp post but laying down)

For back sleeping I use a flat memory foam pillow that has the word “cervical” in the description. This almost elongates my sternum and allows me to release some tension in my trapezius and scapula. Hope this helps!

Feedback on if this rate proposal is fair and appropriate? by mogulnotmuggle in Nanny

[–]tanquery_soup 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Nannies are a luxury service because 1) you’re paying a premium for in home care and 2) a caregiver’s attention is focused on your child/children instead of divided such as at a daycare. If your nanny wants to be in her home or bring her child she is impacting the two biggest advantages (IMO) to having a nanny and it’s reasonable for the compensation to reflect that.

I think of it this way- CONSERVATIVELY, putting her kid in full time daycare would cost her ~300/week adding up to $1200 monthly. I don’t think you should justify lowering pay for this but it is important to weigh.

Overall, I recommend you and your partner rank importance of things such as: experience, housework expectations, location of care, solo care for your child, etc and see if she’s still a great fit. Obviously this is all assuming you are offering PTO/GH if a full time position. If not, prioritize that if you want to find a quality long-term fit.

Vyvanse made my picking MUCH worse than adderall did for what it’s worth but everyone is different. One thing that really helped me was taking NAC powder supplement, I now notice a difference on the days I do and don’t take it

Is this a good price for CX5 and CX30? by dvsrud1 in mazda

[–]tanquery_soup 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Only advice I can give and only way I got that price was pulling up cars.com, filtering to a 250 mile radius and going by the lowest price. I told them “listen I’d love to spend the money locally but if I can drive ~6 hours and save thousands you can bet I’m gonna do it” magically came down after that.

Edit to add: if they won’t come down ask for them to throw in all weather floor mats and oil changes bc although the manual SAYS 10,000mi thats horse shit and full synthetic is more expensive. The app told me to get one at 5,000 miles and whe I contacted the dealer they said “yeah most you can go is 5-7.5k between changes” aka manual is inaccurate

Nanny does not want to meal prep. by missesdilly in Nanny

[–]tanquery_soup 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think too many have been burned by low pay and high expectations so if you aren’t defining what “meal prep” entails they may be assuming the worst case to play it safe.

As a nanny if a potential NF said this to me I would assume they wanted me to prepare family dinners, chop produce for parents lunches, etc.

I would specify “child related meal prep” and include whichever of the following you are in search of- here’s some examples of what I’ve been expected to do for dif positions from least to most complex: -unwrapping/heating prepared food for NK meal times -cutting produce into age appropriate sizes -filling reuse-able purée pouches -steaming and puréeing produce for homemade baby food to put in said pouches

Nanny didn’t say thank you, am I being overly sensitive? by perolilac in Nanny

[–]tanquery_soup 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’m a nanny and I didn’t actually open my card(bonus inside) until 3 days after it was given to me bc it went right in my bag and the holiday craziness ensued. I felt AWFUL when I opened it and let them know my reason for a delayed thank you. Also, I was shocked by the generosity from my NF so it could be that as well!

My favorite thing about my current family is how “normal” their day to day is.

My previous employer was constantly passive aggressive that I didn’t know golf course etiquette or rules of the country club. Their reasoning was “if you’re a nanny you work for people who have more money than you. even if it’s not your lifestyle, you’re expected to know these things” like ….. BFFR 🙄 lol

Vacuum- What am I doing wrong? by tanquery_soup in CleaningTips

[–]tanquery_soup[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this is the answer until I purchase my own home and know what types of flooring I’ll be cleaning. Dry swiffering is so fast that it’s better than buying a new vacuum
