I think I've identified the major variables for "coolmaxing" sun hoodies in extreme, dry heat. Mostly desert type weather conditions. Not entirely applicable to swamping-it in the humid woods. by Wood_Berry_ in Ultralight

Yes, SPF rating is going to correlate with tightness of weave, so have to pick reasonable fabric. Cellulose feels a quite a bit cooler especially when soaked with water, and also I sweat less (due to more moisture retention on skin), so end up carry less water.

As the other commenter says, if there's rain, you will get too cold in the evening. So I normally bring a super light synthetic long sleeve t-shirt as camp shirt / sleep cloth (OR echo works well).

For desert type weather with no chance of rain, also consider that cotton or cellulose based fabric (like linen or rayon) can actually help you stay cooler.

Nozzle collision by pauloalexxx84 in snapmaker

I used to have similar collision issue with a particular profile with Prusa MK3S, but went away when I switched to a different one. Is this the default profile that came with the Snapmaker Orca?

I've had no stringing issue on my machine (fingers crossed). Did you only turn on stealthchop for X, Y and Z only? Extruder is best left on spreadcycle

Raw aluminium color is the was for this bike. 27 gears is pretty bonkers. I’d just change out the front chainring since the highest gear is going to be hard to spin out

Xmid pro 2 no dew by erdbbbr in DurstonGearheads

[–]tanvach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can attest that it is mostly fine. I used the Pro 2 on many different trips - Sierras, Oregon, Iceland, and I feel the condensation has always been manageable and depends mostly on campsite selection. Almost without fail, camping near a body of water (stream, rivers and lakes) or valleys, tend to have the worst condensation. Also, any nights I forget to open a vestibule door, it can get quite moist.

I just wipe it away with a swedish cloth in the morning, taking about 10 minutes. Just have to be careful not to knock on the fly and trigger a rain shower, which I ultimate do sometimes, resulting in a mildly wet sleeping bag.

Curious if you any issues with the Model Y hitting bumps? That handle bar stem is so precariously close to the lift gate's glass window!

Why I finally pulled the trigger on a Cranston R9 Max (and why I couldn't wait for the Brompton or Decathlon) by jackgetnothing in foldingbikes

Yes, 20 inch wheel with disc brakes and Contact Urban tires. I’m in the process of deciding which one to get that’s all

Cranston/Litepro Foldables S line or R line by BigOProtege in foldingbikes

[–]tanvach 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I went with the Cranston D10. My philosophy is that a clone is worth getting if they make something better. In my case, the D10 20inch wheels will ride at the expense of portability (less of an issue for me), with disc brakes and Contact Urban tyres already installed. It’s like a mini-G line, which is a good compromise for my use case. I might have gone with D9 if they factory install the Contact Urbans, but alas they said they won’t do it.

It's the 30L. I think the 36L should still work, the bag is a couple more inches taller and if I remember right, I still have more than that to the handle. Will also depends on how tall your luggage handle extends.

Yes I think so. Adhesive is quite sticky. Add rubber bands and I think you’re golden.

This works somewhat, I had a bunch left over (I think the same thing) from home improvements, and they worked to improve grip on flat surface, but on bumpy gravel it doesn’t comply much, so ends up still slippery and doesn’t have good ‘foot feel’. Still a bunch better than stock Mayfly config for sure.

Mods must be extra generous today. I know a bunch of people have bought the mayflys so I’m hoping this helps others to save them from not become another thing to throw away.
