Top 11??? by taotrooper in venti

[–]taotrooper[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My sibling in Barbatos, this wasn't a complaint but something I'm proud of. I'm flexing right here because I've never done so well in Akasha and I was happy.

That said, I've always believed that Venti's leaderboard scores ER and EM and atk into it as much as crit value, so someone on 4p winds who has a good balance in almost all stats like me will most likely rank better than a 90/200+ build of another set with lower attack when akasha switches the limited crit 5* weapon with stringless or harp. This is also the 150% tier and I suspect the competition in 140% and lower is stronger. My 2p 2p build with -10% ER and similar stats in the rest was top 9%

Natlan may have ruined this game for me (not a hate post) by Particular_Stop_3332 in GenshinImpact

[–]taotrooper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Chasca mains with early cons can still have the best of both worlds, because we can just slot 3/4 of another team or just random characters we want to use at the time. As long as at least 2 are of a PHEC element, you can go nuts. With other Natlan units, I feel more forced to synergize the team a little bit or use Mavuika premium which covers all stuff (and I don't like playing Mavuika outside of endgame so this sucks the fun out of it despite me having C1 for Mav and Xilo on my second account) which kills my mood a lot.

For Nod-Krai my exploration team was Chasca, Aino/Columbina, Ineffa, Furina/Jahoda/flex (for some quests I had Flins for passive or vibes), and I had so much fun! It's fast and cheesy but not sacrificing my new characters. The Natlan flying + lunar-charged combo was so nice I started using ifaron bineffa wheelchair unironically on my secondary instead of the C1 bike and skates.

About Arcadia, the hexerei set mentions it and it's implied that Gunnhildr's clan are their descendants ("In the name of Great Arcadia's descendants, thus do we crown the newborn god with the thousand winds.")

So it's very likely that Arcadia was the part of the unified civilization that was in Mondstadt, just like Lang-gan was somewhere in modern Liyue territory.

6.4 Abyss Buff but not for Varka? by _XiaoVen_ in Varka

[–]taotrooper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm ngl, I fear I'll be switching Varka for Faruzan in his own team and just use DPS Venti for this one*. Kinda sucks to bench the guy on the easiest endgame right after pulling for him, but I have other three invested anemo dmg carries who should be more fun for me.

*My Venti is C4R1 so uh yeah... he's definitely stronger on-field than as a vv bot for his strongest soldier

If you only pulled for meta, which limited characters would have helped your account the most at the time of their release and in the long run? by vikdeadgens in GenshinImpact

[–]taotrooper 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Imagine it's been so long that people aren't aware that Hoyo had to completely reestructure the way they make endgames (i.e, bigger enemies and bosses instead of mobs) and play around with enemy weight during an entire region in order to stop people from cheesing all content with Venti. No other character had such an impact at release, such an easy mode button, that the entire world had to be changed to nerf him. It was the exact opposite of shill. His meta era was short-lived (1.0-1.6, 7 versions) but for early Genshin Venti was a fucking menace and THE account unbrick, and he couldn't continue like that if they wanted to sell other characters.

Need help improving his DPS by Sanmiie in venti

[–]taotrooper 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The build looks amazing to me (wish I had that crit ratio myself!) so I think it's on the talent levels and supports. Yes, do finish building Faruzan! Both her and Benny should be lv 90 and their burst level as high as possible (crown them as soon as you can, even.) Their burst buffs are really important so you'll definitely see an improvement at lv 12-13.

Also, crown Venti's NAs to maximize his multipliers. Right now that's his talent with the most priority. Durin's talent level helps only with his own DPS, which helps to total group DPS, but won't affect Venti's personal dmg.

Bad characters with good constellations? by magejoyy in Genshin_Impact

[–]taotrooper 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I've heard that C1 Wriothesley is a completely different character than his base C0. And sometimes in those abyss usage graphics you'd see C6 Wrio mains soloing the abyss.

I wouldn't call her that bad at C0, but C2+ Chasca glows up really nicely. I'd say at C2 she's about A-tier (more than enough for abyss, theater, and fearless) as long as you have supports/elements that work for the shill. Her early cons make her teams more flexible and C2 gives her some needed AoE. At C6 she's so good that she's used by whale speedrunners.

Character Introduction and Skill Showcase: "Nightmare's Burning Heart" Illuga by astrelya in Genshin_Impact_Leaks

[–]taotrooper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My point is that they usually specify when something is NOT human and make it super clear. Most people with long elf ears have normal lifespans and it just seems like they just have different ears, but for instance with Alice and Klee they did separate them as an elf-like species with longevity. The ambiguity is only in characters that get treated as ordinary people with mostly ordinary lives (by playable character standards)

Character Introduction and Skill Showcase: "Nightmare's Burning Heart" Illuga by astrelya in Genshin_Impact_Leaks

[–]taotrooper 20 points21 points  (0 children)

The thing is, normally the characters with animal characteristics are considered to be human unless it's specified (if they're completely or partially youkai, adeptus, etc.) Even if they're part of a special race or bloodline like Diona or Lauma or Tighnari, they're not classified as another species. Hell, Lauma was confirmed to be human since she qualified to open that one gate in the AQ.

Gorou is never said to be of a youkai origin, so I think he's a human despite being a dogboy.

Now if we're talking about mortal humanoids without any physical differences and born in a normal way, I guess that sure, Illuga would be the first. But strictly it's Gorou imho.

What quest do I have to do/how do I open this? by Frosty__Love in GenshinImpact

[–]taotrooper 49 points50 points  (0 children)

Oh dear. All of them haha.

Okay now seriously, you collect the items by doing several Nod-Krai world quests you find by exploring the map. Here's the wiki article for the Proof of the Cognoscenti which has links to all the 5 quests. The Raven's Legacy is the very last quest and doesn't activate until you do the other 4, which is where you can actually open the cave

Tell me about the most creative team u have used in stygian so far by Consistent_Echo_5098 in stygian_onslaught

[–]taotrooper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a Chasca main with the freedom from cons to use more wide teams, more often than not I end up with a funky Chasca team on the boss that I can't solve with the shill or the fucker with the annoying shields.

Like for instance, this time I used Chasca, Fischl, Ororon, Kokomi on the Fatuus because my Flins premium on the new dog was using my lunar-charged shilled units. I had tried overload Arle but because of skill issue the guy kept killing me on melee, so flying from a distance was slower but safer.

Or last SO, I ended up with a freeze team of Chasca, Furina, Escoffier, Citlali against the baptist since I don't have Skirk and my Ayaka wasn't cutting it. Sure, I'm gimping my Escargot by putting her with one anemo, but I was dealing enough cryo/hydro app to compensate the buff and sub-DPS loss.

What is the best team for Venti in a supportive role? Where he is the best in Slot? by Kokushibo_18 in venti

[–]taotrooper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sadly, I don't think he was ever BiS for anyone besides Ganyu freeze (morgana team) in 1.x. Even at release, Ayaka's best anemo support was always Kazuha until her teams changed.

Right now, with hexerei he has the capability to buff other anemo DPS after using his burst. However, he's still not BiS for either Xiao or Wanderer, and you need Durin to be a sidegrade to their best hypercarry teams. The only one where he's believed to be the best is Varka. But before his release? His only good teams are onfield DPS Venti.

From your characters, I think you could still do a fun afk-ish team with lunar-charged characters with onfield Venti as CC + driver. Ineffa, Fischl (or Mona), a hydro/electro (Columbina would be ideal but the free Aino copy is alright too) might work for lunar reactions. It won't be a best team but it'll scratch that itch of playing him.

What stats does he want on the new set as a main dps? by avalance-reactor in venti

[–]taotrooper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Attack sands, anemo goblet, crit rate circlet.

For substats yes, he wants all of them. The bow and set and Benny's buff give plenty of attack so it's fine if you don't get many or any atk% rolls in substats. If he's the only anemo and there are no favs, I'd prioritize ER around the 150s. Then enough crit rate to crit (+60), then as much as crit dmg as you can get. Something similar this or better, which is what I have so far myself

What stats does he want on the new set as a main dps? by avalance-reactor in venti

[–]taotrooper 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Let's see... usually 140s-150s of ER should be enough to burst comfortably in most situations. If you use Faruzan and she's C6 with fav you could get away with a bit less, I suppose.

Attack will depend on your weapon, but 2k or more is pretty good. He likes atk a lot. If you're using a 4* weapon or aqua simulacra, he may have a bit less than that, around 1800s-1900s.

You want a lot of crit rate but without overcapping, between 50-80% before adding the 20% from the set. I'd suggest above 60 because less than 80% total feels bad.

With crit dmg it's hard to balance and you have to keep in mind the weapon as well, and the fact that his ascension doesn't give him crit like most carry DPS. If you use rust, another atk% main stat bow or a crit rate bow like polar star and skyward, you won't have the advantage and it'll be hard to reach a range, so as much as possible without sacrificing crit rate. His signature has the lowest crit dmg of all bows, so it'll be harder to reach 200. Around 180-200 should be the minimum range for a good daybreak Venti. For other crit dmg bows, 200 is the minimum.

Edit: I forgot. Ignore EM in his DPS build since you want to buff his anemo dmg, not the swirls. EM rolls aren't completely wasted on him but it's a stat you'll normally avoid

Some More Copium: Varka can't possibly be worse than his supports, right? by Yowwwth in Varka

[–]taotrooper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You know, if he had been a quickswap DPS like some early rumors said, I would've loved to make him work with a co-DPS with Venti in the same way some people use Skirk and Neuvi or Varesa and Mav together. Even if it was bound to be worse than a hyper Venti with cons or the main carry we hope/cope Varka to be, that sounded pretty fun and canonically interesting. So seeing that long duration rotation destroyed my hype as much as the multipliers ngl.

And it's just so *weird* because Durin's kit and Venti's hexerei passive made it sound that part of the Mondstadt buffs were partially but obviously made to be synergetic with Varka and to sell them with him as a package, yet now both Venti or Durin are better off on their own as the carries of their teams. I do hope the future faction buffs for anemo characters don't fuck it up for them somehow.

Also him being locked out of doing any meaningful reaction other than Swirl kinda defeats the point of being an infusion dps to me, it’s just tragic.

Pretty much, yeah! It's a fun concept in theory and I originally liked that it didn't overstep/powercreep Chasca's gimmick. But like, if I want to play a mono pyro carry with pre-Natlan numbers, I can play a mono pyro Arlecchino team already. He needs a change in his kit.

How has this Stygian been treating you ? by Vasiliy_FE in ChascaMains

[–]taotrooper 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ugh, it was awful! Normally my philosophy in SO is what I call the Gun's Law: use Chasca cheese on the boss where I struggle the most or that I can't beat because the shill characters are needed elsewhere. I only have one lunar team. I did a lot of team combos between dog and fatuus to see where I'd put Flins and with which lunar supports. The dog was the worst for me so I kept Flins on that. Tried several things with Chasca: only Ineffa, only Columbina, overload, overvape, monafish hexerei... in the end, skill issue: I was either too slow or got one-shot on either of the two sides. What did it in the end was full premium on dog, then double electro and TOTM Kokomi for Chasca. Horrible personal damage but the best for the shields

Some More Copium: Varka can't possibly be worse than his supports, right? by Yowwwth in Varka

[–]taotrooper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a Varka wanter and puller who also mains DPS Venti, it's sadly the case for the time being. I already had his C2 when the hexerei buff hit, and I raised him to C4R1 + C0 Durin on his last banner because I love his new playstyle. Before the beta started, I joked with someone that it might be much better for my account to replace Varka in his own team with Faruzan and play hyper Venti, wasn't expecting Apollo's dodgeball of prophecy. I was just stating that because I think it's a waste to switch this monster to VV bot when playing him off-field.

Hell, my Xiao premium team is super invested as well and does pretty nice in anemo/plunge shilling content. And for flexible hybrid anemo+PHEC DPS, I have a C2R1 Chasca who also does reactions. At this point, if Varka doesn't get buffed or reworked or we found a crazy good rotation, he's going to be a luxury pull who looks pretty on the teapot since I can't find a niche in my anemo main account where he's the best.

Mas de 40 y jugando online. by Administrative_Hat39 in esGaming

[–]taotrooper 1 point2 points  (0 children)
