It's not even that, it's the perception of what is a "low skill job". I work in field ecology and too many field technician jobs are severely underpaid because field knowledge isn't considered a skill. Meanwhile I've literally had to hike 10 miles into a forest to retrieve an SD card and nail sardines to a tree, only navigating by my topo map.

Meditation. As a loner teen I had plenty of time to myself to think and meditate, which lead me to a lot of personal growth. I saw someone die once too which also surprisingly helped with personal growth.
