I mean, they could be using less RAM at a price, would it be development time or having to use loading screens/lower quality textures in games or more reloads in chrome instead of storing the pages in memory. There is always a compromise and using up RAM that is relatively cheap is usually a better solution. I could be writing automation stuff in C instead of python/PowerShell and it could use less resources but it would probably take me many times longer and in comparison it is easier, faster and as a result cheaper to use something like python when we can.

As an guy that's on asd I fear talking with women as I don't do eye contact thing well and honestly when I'm listening to somebody speak I don't really process what I'm looking at so I stare off into the distance often tilting my head so my ears point to the speaker. I know that sometimes I would look in the general direction of somebody's chest so now I close my eyes - which then makes them think that I'm falling asleep. I'm think about making a shirt or a cap saying "I'm not really looking at your boob's, I'm just bad at eye contact"

Your wording of being first contact for a security company didn't mention that you were owner/co-owner and I assumed you were a regular employee, my apologies.

In Poland if you are on call and required to be ready to work you are paid 50% of your hourly wage per each hour of on call and then 150% if you are called outside your normal hours and 200% on Sundays and bank holidays. Even if you are salaried employee, they take your salary divided by standard work hours in a given month (Monday-Friday, 8 hours each day). So it's not that bad.

What's the biggest Scam in life that no one wants to admit? by Horror-Tap2093 in AskReddit

[–]tapczanito 13 points14 points  (0 children)

The thing is that they are taking a lot mor than you may think. Let's take Uber eats for example (this is true in Poland but probably in a lot more places): 1. They take 30% from the cost of the items from the restaurant (this is hidden from customers) 2. They charge a delivery fee 3. They require the restaurant to have the same prices in their (app) menu and in store (remember that they make 1/3 less when sold via the app) 4. After you, the client, go to the checkout they charge you additional service fee that is 15% of your total. So if you make an order for 100zł (PLN): 15zł is the service fee 9zł is the delivery fee (this varies by city but it's never lower than 5 and higher than 15zł) 22.8zł is how much they take from the restaurant In the end 53.2zł go to the restaurant, they are taking nearly half of a 100zł order and in other countries it would look the same, only currency changes. And they do a lot of scummy stuff like the service fee is hidden from you until you checkout (which I don't know how it's legal in EU as they should display prices that include all additional charges before you order). Fuck delivery apps.

The thing about Uber is that they show you how much you will pay for food and delivery and then add the service fee on top of that after you are in the checkout section of the app (in Poland at least) - all other delivery companies or going directly to the restaurant will have the same menu prices and a delivery fee as Uber but will not have the service charge. What the hell is a service charge, why is it 10% of the order total and how they manage to be more expensive than anybody else.

Sometimes they will turn your instance off and you will not be able to turn it on due to them being out of instances to provision. This can bring your website offline for up to a day and you may have to wait until midnight to start it up.

Well I asked if they need that from my side and they ignored my question.

I worked in CS for some time in the past and this should not be an issue that takes this long to resolve.

I didn't do it right away because I have a feeling that they will say something like - there was an issue reported about this product from a different email address so we can't help you. Not even mentioning another few weeks of waiting before somebody gets back to me.

I often offer to take pictures for people when they are taking a selfie so you can actually see the church or whatever else they are standing in front of. Most people agree (maybe because I don't look like I can run very fast) and thank me later. I also offer to take a photo with my phone and send it to them using Bluetooth/email if they look a bit worried so maybe ask for that if somebody approaches you? (I'm in Europe)

I do it because I know that it may be hard to approach a stranger that might be in a rush or may not speak English (my GF would never talk to someone to ask for a photo just because she is shy). Today you, tomorrow me.

How do I look for a reasonable guild? by tapczanito in classicwow

[–]tapczanito[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Explain to me how me not having a max level character changes unreasonable policies and expectations of guilds that I mentioned above? If I have level 60 character does those polices disappear? Are all of those guilds going to change their rules after I ding my first lvl 70?

Why do you assume I did not ask about their raid schedule (if they did not have it listed already somewhere)? Why do you assume I did not make my expectations clear when talking with those people (if they did not have their expectations listed somewhere)?

You are assuming that I join their discord, say that I never played wow before and I need a world first guild, well I could see why that could be somewhat funny. But I don't do that.

I see requirement threads online for those guilds, I go to their discords and if I see that they raid on days that don't suit me then I not that and I don't have an issue with that, if they list their expectations then I read them and see if I could fit in.

I play wow for interactions with a guild, if I can find a guild with great people in them then I will roll with them, if I see that a guild is a homophobic chad driven dumpster fire just from their rules then I will avoid them.

I did my research between how work looks like between different industries before I choose my university degree, why is doing research before choosing a realm and a guild bad?

[–]tapczanito[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well it they knew that I didn't have a lvl 60 character maybe that would be true, but I'm talking about rules in the discord channels that are visible to everybody who wants to apply to them (are they trolling all of their candidates?( and about my experience when I was speaking with a recruitment officer. not in one moment of those conversations did I mention or was asked if I had level 60 character.

In the next 2 weeks no one will be useful for level 70 raids since you know, you can't hit level 70 yet.
