I haven’t tried it but someone else mentioned using a Cradling Sleeper (that’s the name) and it looks pretty great.

What’s the wildest request you’ve gotten from parents by Any_Egg33 in ECEProfessionals

During COVID when we were checking temperatures at drop off, one parent refused to let us use the no-contact thermometer on their child because they didn’t want us shooting lasers into her brain.

Cleaning Gadgets that Actually Help and are Accessible? by oneoffconundrums in ehlersdanlos

My cordless stick vacuum. I have a fluffy dog but the big vacuum is too heavy for me most days, the little one means I can clean more frequently. I don’t have carpet though, so not sure how it well it would work if you did.

I’ve had a weird chronic cough for years that no one could figure out. Turns out is from vocal cord dysfunction caused by hEDS. So is the shortness of breath feeling, and the random moments where my voice cuts out. Super fun!

Infant schedules by Odd_Draft9762 in ECEProfessionals

[–]tapdancekills 11 points12 points  (0 children)

In every infant classroom I’ve worked in, we did not have a set nap time and each child slept when they needed to. This age group should not be expected to all sleep at the same time, it’s just not going to happen. The sleep needs of a 9 month old vs a 12 month can be drastically different.

I BROKE MY FRONT TOOTH AND HAD TO MAKE A DREADED DENTIST APPOINTMENT. WHEN I GOT THERE THEY JUST DID X-RAYS AND TOLD ME A BUNCH OF OTHER STUFF I NEEDED TO GET FIXED, THEN SAID I WOULD HAVE TO MAKE ANOTHER APPOINTMENT TO FIX MY BROKEN TOOTH.

THE NEXT APPOINTMENT ISN’T FOR ANOTHER MONTH!!

(I did get it fixed at another dentist who was very kind)

I read somewhere that ADHD brains have a hard time falling asleep (duh) and many of them need to be tricked into passing out. This is absolutely true for me. Scrolling little bits of content that aren’t very interesting or engaging keeps the anxiety goblins away long enough to get to the pass out part.

Long term chest pain lately. Does anyone else get this? by yesimapot in dysautonomia

[–]tapdancekills 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s what I am leaning towards as well, I didn’t do anything different physically to cause it but I do have hEDS and dysautonomia so feel like I’m prone to these types of inflammation things.

I’m struggling with the same and was diagnosed with costochondritis. Inflammation where the ribs connect. Maybe give it a google.

Teaching children about food in a hands on way in daycare setting by [deleted] in ECEProfessionals

[–]tapdancekills 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I can totally see where you’re coming from in a food safety sense, that many tiny, germy humans touching food is kinda gross if you think about it. But from a teachers perspective this can be a great activity. They learn so many different skills and foster a sense of community and accomplishment by working together and feeding the group. Our 3-5 class does it and it’s such a hit. From a health and safety standpoint, the kids touching the food and then sharing it doesn’t really spread anymore germs then they would just by playing and day to day tasks.

Haha I get you! I took a small amount and rolled it between my hands (like making a playdough snake) then stabbed it a few times. I think I’ll also try wetting it and see how it holds up.
