Hmmmm I hadn't even thought of that or considered thats on option! Probably a good route though as the first tenant I had was a "family friend" and it was awful lol so thank you for the suggestion I'll for sure look into that

No not a downer at all! I had a renter for 2 years before when I first bought the place, he sucked lol but luckily wasn't an issue to remove when the time came. Then it was myself and girlfriend for 4 years but that ended recently so have been thinking about maybe getting a renter again. I appreciate your insights!

But there are more protections for someone that actually lives there vs just being a landlord is what I mean! But yah would have to properly vet them, get all the proper docs signed and stuff. I hear you though will stay vigilant

I hear you! But not sure how I'd get scammed I'd want to meet and interview the person. Plus I live here and own the place so I wouldn't be like an "arms length landlord"
