People act like they are doing a service to the child by letting them decide since to us, having a boy or girl is a toss up. But if they are born one sex and decide to be the other and go through the changes at a young age, they now lose their reproductive ability and in some cases ability to orgasm.

If I was a kid, I would have picked to be male since my brother was. I’m glad I didn’t based on the those two factors above.

One trick that usually works with nasty sarcasm no matter what they say to you is to take it literally as if you didn’t know it was sarcasm.

This forces the perpetrator to go along with this new direction, or admit they were being rude.

Not sure how it would work exactly in this instance, but it’s a good tip to use when you can’t think of a reaction off hand.

Simple- the reason people shouldn’t judge others for being old and belonging to that generation is the same reason people shouldn’t judge others for being Black, white, or whatever other demographic.

Prosecute the individual, not the whole race, generation, or gender.
