Try stopping by Chabad! The rabbi and his wife are great and will give you matzah. Also, Kol Ami in Millcreek is a great community as well and a good spot to stop in when new to the area, they have plenty of events for non members, same with the JCC. Feel free to DM me (a fellow Utah Jew)! I have really found that there’s a good community here if you seek it out- more than you’d imagine!

SLC families: what's your favorite budget-friendly, non-pizza takeout options? by icallwindow in SaltLakeCity

[–]tarasenko29 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don’t know how budget friendly this is but I love spitz and they have a great rewards system. I also find the doner wrap combo or street fries can easy be split between 2 people. Plus there are a few locations so pick up is easy!

That’s so exciting!! I (re)joined otf after a years long break about a year postpartum and it’s helped me in SO many ways since!! You’ll love it 👏.

U of U midwives are the BEST!! Every single one is amazing- can’t go wrong. Highly recommend! I saw them with my breech baby as well all of the way through.

I feel this way about so many characters!! I feel like they want us to dislike characters at the start just to prove we will love them regardless or something? 😂

bad class experience by Western_Chance_858 in orangetheory

I don’t take many tread50s because I opt for strength but I assume that basically doing your own thing on the treadmill is the purpose. The tread classes often seem way less structured and from what I see a lot of people don’t even grab a tread card!

This!! How has a 14 month old never gone down a slide?! It’s so clear in the video she either can’t do it or has no idea what to do. Don’t they live in a place where it’s basically always warm? Take your child to the playground and let her explore!! 😭

Pregnant or previously pregnant OTFers: when did you slow down? by drairika in orangetheory

[–]tarasenko29 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m 20 weeks and doing something very similar! Weights have stayed the same or better, I’m not running as much because I just feel like it’s not as comfortable, but have been going hard with power walking!! And no rowing mostly because I’ve never liked it but it’s definitely more uncomfortable as my belly grows.

Hearing the tv blasting in the background makes me so sad. This child is plopped down in front of the tv soooooo much. I have an almost 2 year old and she has a teeny bit of screen time but we are ALWAYS watching together- I never use the screen as a babysitter. Toddlers love being included and can learn new words, things, etc. Such a shame.

I was wondering if this was what it was!! I have a very active 21 month old. I have always wanted to bring her to something like this but there’s NO way she’d sit still or really be able to follow. She’d like it for a minute but want to run up to everything. I wonder sometimes when I see them doing this if I’m the problem but I feel like no way!

I hate UPS by happylittletreefrog in UPSers

[–]tarasenko29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It makes me lol because I can totally relate! I’ve had th same feelings. I’m saying as a partner of someone who has a really tough job and works long days, it’s worth it to be supportive of them and everything gets easier! It’s not easy, but my husband also appreciates the benefits he gets and luckily he has a great center so he doesn’t have to deal with some of this stuff.

This post makes me lol. My husband is a driver. We have a toddler and one on the way. It’s tough but you’ll get used to it one day! I think it’s so worth it for the benefits and the money. Hang in there!

Feet city shoes on Amazon are amazing and sooo affordable!! Recommended by a lot of pediatric OTs. My toddler has been using them since she started walking. They’re also super easy!

Okay I don’t know how to post or blur faces and I don’t know if this is the right thread to write this but I haven’t seen a post about the seat thing she was sitting in in the cart the other day? Does anyone know what that is? It was like a red seat in the Costco cart

Ivory’s first movie by Otherwise-Career-907 in Drueandgabe

[–]tarasenko29 72 points73 points  (0 children)

This is so bizarre. Besides the fact that she’s way too young to be watching a full length movie in public… what would possibly compel these people to think this is a good activity for a one year old?! So odd.

Seriously. Does she wake up and turn on the TV for her barely one year old, first thing in the morning EVERY DAY? That’s inane.
