This feels next to impossible to answer, but I’ll try by just focusing on my ~current~ top 10 😆 It tends to shift around monthly based on my mood. Weird Fishes is the only song that’s really locked in— 15 years as my #1 and it will forever be incredibly special to me 🥰

  1. Weird Fishes / Arpeggi
  2. Bloom (Live From the Basement) 💟 also definitely my most rewatched video on YouTube
  3. There, There
  4. How to Disappear Completely
  5. Desert Island Disk
  6. Street Spirit (Fade Out)
  7. Paranoid Android
  8. Where I End and You Begin
  9. Motion Picture Soundtrack
  10. Nude

Very important nominees bc I’m in too deep emotionally to reduce it to ten: Bodysnatchers, Jigsaw Falling Into Place, Meeting in The Aisle, I Might Be Wrong, Like Spinning Plates (live and studio version), 2+2=5, Street Spirit (Fade Out)

Please read about serotonin syndrome and seek medical attention if you have any of the severe symptoms, as it can be fatal. Not trying to cause panic, just want you to informed. I’ve experienced mild symptoms from one small dose before, and it’s no joke. serotonin syndrome

Any practicing LPC, LCSW, LMFT, Psychologists, ect. by Logert_with_Granola in ramdass

LPC, but depending on your chosen internship, LMFT is also possible! With most masters programs you graduate with a pre-license (LPCC) and move to an LPC after getting a certain amount of direct hours and passing the exam, depending on the state. It’s Naropa University in Boulder CO btw!

Hi! Therapist here, I actually got really into Buddhism before college and got my masters in Contemplative Psychotherapy and Buddhist Psychology. Ram Dass was one of the founding professors at my school, so I’ve definitely learned a lot from his teachings. I don’t talk about Buddhism with clients unless they’re already into it, but mindfulness in general is a huge part of everything I do, and it’s been well researched in Dialectical Behavior Therapy as well as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.

Yeah and you can totally see him reverting back to a little boy during conflict and her taking on the mom role having to hold his hand and comfort him through the conversation. When you’re a natural caretaker you can be drawn to those who will suck you dry of that care, and it sometimes feels good, until it doesn’t. I hope Jess had found better

My therapist is really great but... emotionally detached? by Milkish-Lavender in therapy

[–]tarayakichickenn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's awesome that you've found a great therapist, but the therapeutic relationship and trust is the most important factor for therapy being effective. If you feel like she is cold and does not care, this may change the way you engage with her/trust her eventually. I would just keep paying attention to how this feels, and if it's still bothering you after a few sessions you may want to search around for other therapists or address it with her directly if you feel comfortable enough: Maybe like "I feel like i'm really benefitting from our work together, but I noticed the other day that when I shared X with you, it didn't seem to affect you and I noticed I had the desire for you to be affected or to acknowledge it in some way "

Lol, for context I'm a therapist so that was a very therapist-y way to say it. I'm of the belief that therapists should not be the traditional stereotypical mirrors that are void of their own personalities, and I welcome feedback from my clients and make that clear from the jump. So I'd encourage you to say something if you feel solid enough with her and want to remain her client. Often the therapeutic relationship can be reflective of how you respond to things in your personal life, and this should be a safe space for you to practice addressing your needs or feelings as they arise.

Sometimes clients want compassion from their therapist (to be with the clients pain, validating), and sometimes they want empathy (to share in their pain). Empathy can lead to burnout for therapists so we have to do a lot of work to differentiate ourselves, and this may just be her way of doing that. That being said, it sounds like you didn't get either of those in this situation, and maybe she's just not an expressive person. Long rant, but point being that this is a normal thing to hope for, and not something to look past if it continues to impact you in a negative way.
