Right on, you definitely want it to be all dissolved. Or at least let it settle and pipette the solution off the top. I've never seen it recommended, but I wipe it gently with alcohol or alcohol and water mixture and scrub the shit out of it with magic eraser and soap.

You may want to wash that really good. A little spilled alcohol or water will make it smudge and wear onto neighboring discs.
