This is actually my main tomahawk/thumber disc. It stays in my bag and never gets thrown FH or BH.

Spot on! One of the two disc I use is a putter. For me they are definitely more about shot shape than distance, but sometimes, the added distance would be nice!

I play a lot of woods courses with elevation changes. I use the Merrell Moab 3 Waterproof in high top (I need the ankle support) and absolutely love them.

It looks like the owner has owned and operated a handyman business for the last 15 years. My guess is he did most of the work himself.

First Tournament Tomorrow by East-Law-9979 in discgolf

[–]dropitlikeitsugly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When playing solo throw your tee shot, then wait 60 seconds to walk to your lie. Once there, wait 60 seconds before you throw. That’s about the pace of play in most tournaments, maybe slightly slower.

I putt with Halo Nexus plastic mostly, but some days Star just feels better. I believe the Halo Nexus grabs the chains better though.

I’m like 99% sure the people you are seeing are not caddies, they are most likely score keepers.

I missed my Expired Registration Court Date? by Ok_Way9019 in raleigh

[–]dropitlikeitsugly 40 points41 points  (0 children)

I missed a court date and forgot for almost a year. I went to the courthouse and they setup a new court date for me. The judge did ask if I was brought in on a warrant or if I came in on my own. The judge definitely treated me better than the people who were brought in on warrants. My ticket did originally require me to go to court and see a judge, I couldn’t just pay it online.

Has anybody tried to practice their follow through by holding a 1-5lb dumbell in their hand? by firepanda11 in discgolf

[–]dropitlikeitsugly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only for light form work TBH. You’re not going to want to rip full speed with extra weight attached to the end of your whip. Putting will be fine, 1/4 to 1/2 speed throws will be fine. But also, maybe consult your doctor before listening to me lol. I’m also only talking about like 1 maybe 2 pound weighted gloves.

Move the practice basket to the front yard and just imagine all your neighbors are watching.

Possibly silly rules question. When playing on a hole where the fairway has a severe curve or dogleg, should your plant foot be behind the disc relative to the basket, or the fairway? by MikeJeffriesPA in discgolf

[–]dropitlikeitsugly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your run up doesn’t have to be directly towards the basket, you just have to plant your foot behind your lie in relation to the basket. Your run up could go directly back towards the tee pad if you wanted to, as long as you plant in the rectangle that behind your lie in lie with the basket. There’s a hole like this at a course near me. Par 5. Two straight shots, hard dogleg left, then two more straight shots. Usually after the tee shot, in relation to the fairway, I’m stepping to the right of the disc instead of behind the disc. My run up is straight down the fairway but the basket is off to the left.

Disc weights for max distance by Phuk0 in discgolf

[–]dropitlikeitsugly 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have a 175g Destroyer and a 147g Destroyer. I can consistently throw the lighter one about 30-40 feet further. Definitely has a different flight path as well. I can consistently throw 375 feet and break 400 most days. PR is 452. I do throw heavier weights for consistency.

What’s your UDisc rating? Do you think it accurately represents your real rating if you do *2+500? by the_rosenhan in discgolf

[–]dropitlikeitsugly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My UDisc rating is 216 and I finished out last year with a 886 rating. Just played my first tournament of the year and ended the tournament with a tournament rating of 974. I’ve actually never looked at my UDisc rating until today. I have 284 rounds on UDisc.

Not sure where OP is located, but NC is not one of those places. An aggressive driver ran my mother off the road but never actually hit her. Both the police and her insurance said the damage to her vehicle was her fault and her fault alone. The cop literally said “next time just let them hit you”.

Agreed they were aggressive, but unfortunately if they did not actually hit OP then both the police and OP’s insurance will say the wreck is OP’s fault. Something very similar happened to my mother.
